18U Australia Roster Announced

Hot off the back of the National Championships in Sydney, the 18U Australian team will arrive in Auckland today to commence preparation for the Oceania Championships.  Hosted by Baseball New Zealand, the event will run from Friday 23 to Monday 26 January 2015, at McLeod Park, Auckland, New Zealand.

The triple round robin schedule, organised by the Baseball Oceania Confederation, pits Australia (ranked 14th in overall World rankings) against New Zealand (26th) and Guam (44th).  The championship winner qualifies for the International Baseball Federation 18U World Cup to be held in Nishinomiya, Japan, in August.

In what is being called a challenging triple round format, day one will lead with a double-header treat, with Australia at home against New Zealand at 1:00pm, backing up straight away to face Guam at 3:30pm.
