Coaching

Coaches play a valuable role in Victorian baseball, encouraging players and leading them to success on-and-off the field. Coaching is a rewarding opportunity to have a positive impact on players and promote the growth of baseball. From the grassroots level to high performance, all coaches can make a difference to their players and inspire a love of the game and being a good teammate.

Baseball Victoria and our member clubs and associations are committed to providing coaching opportunities for those who want to be a leader on-and-off the field. Please learn more about coaching below and contact us via email if you have any questions.

Canopi Coaching Accreditation Online System

Baseball Victoria is excited to launch the Canopi online system to streamline coaching accreditation management as we continue to grow our community of accredited coaches.

Coaches can use the Canopi system to track and complete Baseball Australia’s coach accreditation through the USA Baseball Certification courses. There are 3 levels of accreditation: A, B and C, and level A is a mandatory component of BV coaching accreditation.

All coaches, including assistant, club, head, and specialist coaches, can sign up to Canopi to complete accreditation requirements in line with BV coach education.

Sponge for Knowledge / Profound Thinker / Visionary
While a good coach knows a great deal about a sport, he/she must continue to learn and develop new training techniques.

Signs of a great coach include staying up-to-date and informed of new research, training, and everything which supports the coaching process, attending coaching clinics and camps, and seeking out tips from other coaches and athletes.

Watching videos, reading books and studying periodicals can also be helpful. Attending classes in a range of subjects, such as sport psychology, nutrition, and exercise physiology is a great idea and is readily accessible for any coach who wants to grow and improve.
