Baseball Australia would like to congratulate the players and coaching staff that will represent Australia at the 2017 Yomiuri Cup beginning on 24 November in Matsuyama, Japan.
This will be the first time an Australian team will compete in the three day tournament, with games scheduled against Japan, Chinese Taipei and the Matsuyama Prefecture.
State associations worked closely in conjunction with Baseball Australia to select the players and coaching staff for this tournament.
General Manager of Team Australia Baseball Glenn Williams is excited to see the inaugural Australian team participate in the Yomiuri Cup.
“We are very excited to be playing in the Yomiuri Cup for the first time. It will be an excellent test for a quality group of players and staff,” Williams said.
“Selecting this team was tough with so many quality players available from across the country. I’d like to thank the State Associations for their contributions in the selection of our Yomiuri Cup team. We hope this trip will lead to future opportunities with the team involved both in Asia and domestically.”
