Swan Hills 18-4 Adelaide Waves
Swan Hills scored runs in every inning as they defeated the Adelaide Waves 18-4.
Dan Carter made history as he hit for the cycle. Carter started his day with a home run, and finished with 4-for-5 with 7RBI. B-J Cooke had a perfect day at the plate for Swan Hills, going 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and three RBI.
Jacob Scott was the only Waves player to register a pair of hits, with Dayton Mitchell and Robbie Brennan picking up an RBI each.
Benji Hewitt struck out three and only gave up one baserunner in 2.1 innings of relief for the Swans, while Tom Druzianich gave himself some momentum heading into the second round, claiming four hits and two RBI.
That win sees the Swan Hills Aces qualify as the second seed in Pool D.
Hills 10-3 Gold Coast Mariners
Gold Coast kept Hills relatively quiet in the first few innings, however a five run fifth inning proved the difference as Hills ran away 10-3 winners.
Brock Tonna was Hills’ strongest with the bat, driving in five of his team’s 10 runs. Liam McCallum made the most of his two hits, legging out a double and a triple and driving in a run.
Riley Watson threw well for Hills in relief, striking out three and only giving up one baserunner in 2.2 innings of relief.
Pinch-hitter Lachlan Maurer’s two-RBI double got the Mariners off the mark in the sixth, while Majar Bishop’s home run in the final inning saw the Mariners take some momentum into the consolation round.
Cronulla 18-2 Canberra
Despite giving up their first runs of the tournament, Cronulla defeated Canberra 18-2 to go through pool play undefeated and seal their place in the quarter final.
Sean Bennett and Jacob Van Leeuwen drove in Canberra’s two runs, with Max Lyddiard claiming a hit.
Koby Roberts was exceptional on the mound for Cronulla, only throwing 31 pitches in his three innings, striking out two and only allowing one baserunner.
Hits were shared all the way through the Cronulla lineup, with James Napier going 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Luke Krkovski capped off an eleven run first inning with a bases clearing triple, with Brad Thurecht and Jake Burns picking up two RBI each.
Adelaide Pirates 14-3 Eastern Phantoms
In a winner take all game, the Adelaide Pirates trailed early, but came home with a wet sail to claim a 14-3 victory against the Eastern Phantoms.
That win sees the Pirates into the quarter finals as they remain in contention for the Australian Junior League Championship.
Caiden Deal swung it well all day for the Phantoms, going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, while Tyler Brooks drove in two runs from his two hits.
Jack Kelly was absolutely outstanding for the Pirates, picking up a double, a triple and two singles to drive in seven of his team’s fourteen earned runs.
Kelly was ably supported by Ethan Badcock, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
As well as nailing a triple, Liam Bull struck out a pair of Phantoms and only gave up one hit in his two innings of relief.

Ryde 14-0 Brisbane Metro
Ryde sealed their place in the quarter finals after a dominant 14-0 victory over Brisbane Metro.
On his birthday, Mitch Steer had a strong game, striking out two and only giving up one hit in 2.1 innings as well as going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Steer was supported offensively by Lex Trattles, who out of the nine hole went 2-for-2 with a big triple and four RBI.
Josh Anthony and Jesse Vankan each claimed his for Brisbane Metro, while Dom French showed patience at the plate claiming a walk.
Kobi Slaats kept the great performances on the mound going for Ryde, only allowing one baserunners in his two innings of work.
Ryde sealed their place in the quarter final with that win, and will look to improve on their silver medal from last year’s tournament.
Central Firebirds 5-0 Southern Mariners
The Central Firebirds managed a shutout win against the Southern Mariners, and they were lead by an amazing performance from Will Sherriff.
Sherriff struck out a tournament high 11 hitters and didn’t allow a run against a Mariners side bound for the quarter finals.
Sherriff’s offence backed him up well, with Taiyo Kurosawa going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Josh Paull, Michael Albertini and Jarrod McKay both chimed in with two hits.
Josh Smith claimed a pair of hits for the Mariners, as well striking out four and only giving up one earned run in his 3.2 inning start for his team.
Despite that loss the Mariners will play the Northern Metros in a quarter final tomorrow morning.
Northern Metros 19-0 Gold Coast Pirates
The Northern Metros flexed their muscle for their third consecutive win in pool play, defeating the Gold Coast Pirates 19-0.
Jack Dymock didn’t give up a hit in his 2.2 innings of work as he struck out three and set the Metros on their way.
Once again it was the top third of the lineup doing the damage for the Metros, with Carter Dowling, Dan Stephenson and Javier Pelkonen each picked up two RBI with Stephenson finishing with a four hit game.
Declan Summerford claimed the Pirates only hit of the ballgame, while Jamie Fox struck out six in a fantastic 2.1 innings.
That victory sees the Metros seal a place in the quarter finals against the Victorian Southern Mariners.
Manly 11-5 Eastern Athletics
Manly punched their ticket to the quarter final after a solid 11-5 victory over the Eastern Athletics.
A big seven spot was the difference, as Tom Newbold crushed another home run. He finished with two RBI, as did Luke Brown, who picked up three hits in the process.
Newbold also managed to lead the pitching battery for Manly, striking out eight and not giving up an earned run in six innings of work.
Zach Busch and Sadi Nergiz both did their best to get the Athletics back in the ballgame claiming two hits each, with Busch driving in oner of his team's five runs.
Teigan Otter claimed a massive three run home run for the Eastern Athletics to tie the ballgame in the bottom of the third. The Athletics again threatened in the final inning, picking up two runs, however Zach Murphy shut the gate and sealed his team's place in the quarter finals.
