8.00pm Pool B final standings confirmed

It went down to a tiebreak - runs allowed - but Adelaide Armada and Western Suns are through to the semi-finals from Pool B. They will play off tomorrow to confirm seeding, while Pool A has everything to play for.

7.25pm Suns shut out Far North Coast to close Day 3 action

#ASLC2018 result: Western Suns 10, Far North Coast 0

Western Suns rounded out Day 3 of #ASLC2018 with a 10-0 win over Far North Coast on Diamond 1.

A four-run second highlighted the Suns’ win, their third of the tournament in Pool B.

Starter Ayden Cartwright punched out five hitters and got a few knocks himself, driving in four runs.

Mitchell Schofield also collected three hits for the Suns.

Western Suns rounded out Day 3 of #ASLC2018 with a 10-0 win over Far North Coast on Diamond 1.

A four-run second highlighted the Suns’ win, their third of the tournament in Pool B.

Starter Ayden Cartwright punched out five hitters and got a few knocks himself, driving in four runs.

Mitchell Schofield also collected three hits for the Suns.

 

4.20pm Western Suns hold off Mariners in #AILC2018 epic

#AILC2018 result: Western Suns 15, Southern Mariners 13

Western Suns will enter tomorrow’s top-of-the-table #AILC2018 clash against Northern Metros undefeated.

The Suns joined the Metros with a 4-0 record, downing the Southern Mariners 15-13 in a wild contest on Diamond 4.

A four-run opening frame ignited the Suns, who raced to a 5-0 lead.

Southern hit back and scored the final 10 runs of the game but were not able to reel in the Suns.

Michael De Gasperis picked up three hits for Western.

Thomas Yuile had three for the Mariners.

Western Suns will enter tomorrow’s top-of-the-table #AILC2018 clash against Northern Metros undefeated.

The Suns joined the Metros with a 4-0 record, downing the Southern Mariners 15-13 in a wild contest on Diamond 4.

#ASLC2018 result: Cronulla 11, Gold Coast Cougars 0

Cronulla scored six early runs on its way to an impressive 11-0 win over the Gold Coast Cougars on Day 3 of #ASLC2018.

Starter Josh Pearl struck out four and drove in the opening run of the game, igniting Cronulla.

After retiring the first three Cougars’ hitters on nine pitches, his RBI-single started a six-run first.

Cronulla extended its buffer with a five-run fourth.

Bailey Curtis drove in two runs on two hits.

Will Fullerton struck out two in one inning out in relief.

 

4.00pm Armada down Far North Coast

#ASLC2018 result: Adelaide Armada 15, Far North Coast 0

Adelaide Armada collected a third win of #ASLC2018, downing Far North Coast 11-0 on Diamond 2.

Starter Zane Judd struck out five in 3 2/3 innings and the Armada scored runs in bunches to support him.

They put on four in the second, seven in the third and four in the fourth to secure a comfortable win.

Cronulla scored six early runs on its way to an impressive 11-0 win over the Gold Coast Cougars on Day 3 of #ASLC2018.

Starter Josh Pearl struck out four and drove in the opening run of the game, igniting Cronulla.

After retiring the first three Cougars’ hitters on nine pitches, his RBI-single started a six-run first.

Cronulla extended its buffer with a five-run fourth.

3.45pm Macarthur claim first win in wild finish

#AILC2018 result: Macarthur 12, Ryde Hawks 8

Macarthur used a five-run seventh inning to top Ryde Hawks and record its first win of #AILC2018 on Day 3.

After losing the lead in the bottom of the sixth, Macarthur dug deep to regain the lead and pick up its maiden Intermediate League win.

Joshua Miners and Mason McPhee led the way with three RBIs.

Michaela Bonser also collected a couple of hits.

Liam Goodrich collected three hits for Ryde.

Macarthur used a five-run seventh inning to top Ryde Hawks and record its first win of #AILC2018 on Day 3.

#ASLC2018 result: Southern Mariners 13, Adelaide Titans 1

The Southern Mariners handed Adelaide Titans their first loss of #ASLC2018 with an impressive 13-1 victory on Diamond 1.

The Titans struck first, but it was all Mariners from there.

Starter Adam Harris tossed four impressive frames, allowing just the one run, and Southern’s offence scored three runs in the third and followed that up with a pair of five-run frames.

Dante Caruso and Mack Turley pushed home three runs, on a couple of hits each.

The Southern Mariners handed Adelaide Titans their first loss of #ASLC2018 with an impressive 13-1 victory on Diamond 1.

The Twins improved their record to 3-1, downing the Newcastle Eagles 13-3 on Diamond 2.

Kody Dertell and Trennell Hutchins collected three hits each for the Twins.

Dertell and Mcleod Sell drove in two runs.

Kynan Harding and Ryan Hudson were responsible for Newcastle’s hits.

 

The Twins improved their record to 3-1, downing the Newcastle Eagles 13-3 on Diamond 2.

#ASLC2018 result: Adelaide Titans 7, Hills 2

Adelaide Titans continued their impressive start to the Bendigo Bank #ASLC2018, downing Hills on Day 3.

The Titans scored the opening five runs of the game, prevailing 7-2 in the end on Diamond 1.

Brock Keding drove in a couple of runs and Carter Powell tripled, helping Adelaide to a third-straight win.

Starter Zac Stroud tossed three scoreless innings, not giving up a hit.

Mitchell Vickery drove in a run for Hills.

#AILC2018 result: Ryde Hawks 22, Manly 7

Kynan Leong homered and drove in six runs as the Ryde Hawks claimed their first win of #AILC2018.

Leong went deep, doubled and tripled as the Hawks prevailed 22-7 over Manly on Diamond 3.

Joshua Richter and Liam Goodrich also picked up three hits for Ryde, which blew the contest open with an 11-run first.

Manly’s Jack Leonard picked up a couple of hits.

Kynan Leong homered and drove in six runs as the Ryde Hawks claimed their first win of #AILC2018.

Leong went deep, doubled and tripled as the Hawks prevailed 22-7 over Manly on Diamond 3.

Joshua Richter and Liam Goodrich also picked up three hits for Ryde, which blew the contest open with an 11-run first.

11.15am Metros stay perfect at #AILC2018

#AILC2018 result: Northern Metros 14, Macarthur 2

The Northern Metros improved their #AILC2018 record to 4-0, topping Macarthur 14-2 on Day 3.

Braydin Horsley drove in four runs as the Metros racked up 16 hits in a solid offensive performance.

Horsley picked up three hits, as did Riley Sanders.

Starter Kaine Newham struck out four.

Gabriel Methner and Lachlan Bigwood drove in runs for Macarthur.

The Northern Metros improved their #AILC2018 record to 4-0, topping Macarthur 14-2 on Day 3.

Braydin Horsley drove in four runs as the Metros racked up 16 hits in a solid offensive performance.

Horsley picked up three hits, as did Riley Sanders.

Starter Kaine Newham struck out four.

The Mariners used the early burst to down the Western Meteors 13-3 in a crucial Pool A clash.

Cameron Zimmerman scored three runs for the Mariners, while Blake Holding drove in a pair of runs.

Starter Matthew West struck out three in 4 2/3 innings.
