8.10pm Cronulla claim gold over Titans at #ASLC2018

#ASLC2018 gold medal game result: Cronulla 7, Adelaide Titans 3

A seven-run second inning propelled Cronulla to gold at the 2018 Australian Senior League Championship presented by Bendigo Bank.

Cronulla capped off an outstanding week in Lismore with a 7-3 win over the Adelaide Titans, earning the right to represent the Australia Region at the 2018 Senior League World Series in Easley, South Carolina.

5.00pm Northern Metros clinch #AILC2018 gold

#AILC2018 gold medal game result: Northern Metros 10, Western Suns 9

The Northern Metros will represent the Australia Region at the 2018 Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division World Series in Livermore, California.

The Metros booked their place at the World Series by downing Western Suns 10-9 to claim gold at the inaugural Australian Intermediate League Championship.

The Metros booked their place at the World Series by downing Western Suns 10-9 to claim gold at the inaugural Australian Intermediate League Championship.

Northern Metros are headed to Livermore, California, for the 2018 Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division World Series! They punched their ticket after claiming gold at #AILC2018 in a rain-shortened contest with the Western Suns.

4.55pm Rain ends Mariners-Eagles duel

#ASLC2018 consolation game three result: Southern Mariners 2, Newcastle Eagles 2

Consolation game three between the Southern Mariners and Newcastle Eagles was cancelled due to constant rain at #ASLC2018.

The game was called off in the middle of the third inning.

The score reverted to 2-2, as it stood after the second inning was completed.

4.30pm Western Suns pick up bronze at #ASLC2018

#ASLC2018 bronze medal game result: Western Suns 5, Adelaide Armada 1

Western Suns scored early runs and weathered a rain-delay to prevail 5-1 over Adelaide Armada in the #ASLC2018 bronze medal game.

The Suns built a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first and rode a strong start by Austin Hagan to victory.

Hagan overcome the rain delay to toss five innings, striking out three and not allowing a run until the fifth inning.

Meanwhile, Western’s offence added a couple of runs in the fourth on an Ayden Cartwright double and bases loaded walk.

Cartwright finished with a couple of doubles, while Jarred Hutchins drove in two runs.

The gold medal game between Adelaide Titans and Cronulla will start at 5pm, live on ABLtv.com.

We're in a rain delay in two of our medal games. In the #ASLC2018 bronze medal game, Western Suns lead Adelaide Armada 3-0, while in the #AILC2018 gold medal game the Western Suns and Northern Metros are tied 1-1.

 

1.55pm Far North Coast claim first win of #ASLC2018

#ASLC2018 consolation game: Far North Coast 13, Western Meteors 6

Far North Coast secured its first win of #ASLC2018, downing Western Meteors 13-6 in a Day 6 consolation game.

FNC broke a 6-all tie on a Josh Healy groundball in the bottom of the fourth and pulled away further with a five-run fifth.

Jacob Ponton starred with the bat for Far North Coast, pushing home three runs.

Starter Josh Healy steadied after allowing early runs to strikeout eight.

Michael Albertini drove in two runs for the Meteors.

Far North Coast secured its first win of #ASLC2018, downing Western Meteors 13-6 in a Day 6 consolation game.

Southern Mariners claimed bronze at #AILC2018 with a solid 17-2 victory over Macarthur on Day 6.

The Mariners took the lead in the bottom of the first, after Macarthur opened the scoring, and never looked back.

Southern scored seven in the second and six an inning later.

Mason Haimona and Lachlan Stevens each collected four RBIs.

Stevens blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the third to make it 12-2.

Western Suns and Northern Metros will face-off in an all-WA gold medal game from 1.30pm.

11.40am Ryde Hawks top Manly in final game

#AILC2018 consolation game: Ryde Hawks 19, Manly 7

Ryde Hawks used a pair of big innings to top Manly 19-7 in their final game of #AILC2018.

The Hawks scored six runs in the second and nine in the fourth, building a solid lead ahead of Manly launching a fightback.

Manly tacked on five in the bottom of the fourth but it was not enough.

Max Goldring drove in three runs for Ryde.

Toby Russell had two RBIs for Manly.

Ryde Hawks used a pair of big innings to top Manly 19-7 in their final game of #AILC2018.

The Hawks scored six runs in the second and nine in the fourth, building a solid lead ahead of Manly launching a fightback.

11.30am Hutchins' two-run triple lifts Twins to victory

#ASLC2018 consolation game 4: Twins 6, Gold Coast Cougars 5

Trenell Hutchins’ two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh lifted Twins to victory in consolation game 4 at #ASLC2018.

Nicholas Pascuzzi and Oscar Hargreaves reached on back-to-back singles to start the bottom of the seventh, before Hutchins tripled to secure a 6-5 win over the Gold Coast Cougars.

It was a see-sawing contest with the Cougars scoring first and regaining the lead in the fourth after Twins plated three runs in the third.

Hutchins’ triple was his second hit of the game.

Ashley Anderson finished with two hits for the Gold Coast.

#ASLC2018 consolation game result: Western Meteors 6, Hills 4

Western Meteors dug out of an early 0-4 hole to top Hills in their consolation game on Day 6 of #ASLC2018.

Jake Smedley worked four scoreless innings in relief, striking out two, as the Meteors collected a 6-4 win.

Kyle Auhl, Rhys Ellis and Joshua Houston drove in runs as the Meteors piled on the final six runs of the game.

Earlier, Hills scored four runs in the top of the first on RBIs from Brent Iredale, Adrian Lautier and Lachlan Crean.

The Meteors face Far North Coast on Diamond 2 from 11.45am.

9.15am Consolation games underway

Two #ASLC2018 consolation games are underway on the final day of action here in Lismore. The Western Meteors and Hills are on Diamond 1 (follow here), while Twins and Gold Coast Cougars are going head-to-head on Diamond 2 (follow here). In #AILC2018 action, Manly and Ryde Hawks will do battle again on Diamond 4 from 9.30am (follow here)

 

8.45am Finals day is here!

Welcome to the final day of #ASLC2018 & #AILC2018 here in Lismore. We have two huge gold medal games ahead - with a couple of trips to the US to represent Australia Region on the line. Adelaide Titans and Cronulla will battle in the #ASLC2018 gold medal game, live on ABLtv.com from 5pm. The inaugural Intermediate League gold medal game will be contested between WA rivals Western Suns and Northern Metros from 1.30pm. We will keep you updated with the action.
