Australia’s hopes of reaching the U15 World Cup Super Round are over following a 22-7 loss to Netherlands in Panama on Tuesday morning.

Jake Burns’ second home run of the tournament was not enough as Australia fell to its third loss, putting it out of contention for the Super Round ahead of its final Group B game against Cuba tomorrow morning.

Australia took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Solomon Maguire walked and then scored on a wild pitch.

Both teams put up four runs in the fifth before the Netherlands added further damage with a six-run sixth.

Maguire had a pair of hits and two walks for Australia.

Australia finished with seven hits and also drew 10 walks.

Jimmy Nati recorded two strikeouts on the mound.

Australia faces Cuba in its final Group B game from 1am tomorrow morning.
