A second-generation member of the Newport Baseball Club, Paul Walshe wins this year’s award for his valued contributions to baseball with the Newport Baseball Club. Over the years, Paul has held a number of positions including being responsible for – grounds maintenance, council liaison, sponsorship, fundraising, junior coach, junior committee member, equipment and merchandise, state coaching and team managing.
Paul’s current role at the Newport Baseball Club sees him (among other things) in the official capacity of Club Secretary. He is also currently our head groundsman, council liaison manager, equipment and merchandise manager.
Yet there is more – Paul also houses Newports import player and has taken it upon himself to ensure that every new club members are made to feel welcome. As one of the most passionate members at Newport, there is no list of jobs that could ever do justice to the impact Paul has had on the Newport Baseball Club.
