The 2022 Little League State Championships continued at Knox on Saturday, with Baycats, Eastern Athletics, Southern Mariners, and Twins making the most of their time on the diamond.
Southern Mariners is 3-1 in Little League Major, followed by Eastern Athletics at 2-2 and Twins at 1-3. Baycats lead the way in Little League Development with a 4-0 record while Eastern Athletics are close behind at 3-1.

Little League Major
Twins 7 v Southern Mariners 3
Southern Mariners fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-3 loss to Twins on Saturday. Twins scored on a double by Brodie S., a single by Oscar S., a single by Louie S., and a single by Reeve H. in the first inning.
Twins got their offense started when Brodie doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Reeve was on the pitcher's mound for Twins. The fireballer surrendered three runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one.
Ryder O. started the game for Southern Mariners. The bulldog went three innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out three. Ethan S. threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Jackson B. went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Southern Mariners in hits.
Andy Z. led Twins with two hits in four at bats. Andy made the most plays with 11 in an error-free game for Twins.
Southern Mariners 23 v Eastern Athletics 10
This game was a heartbreaker for Eastern Athletics, as they lost the lead late in a 23-10 defeat. Southern Mariners were down 6-5 in the top of the fourth inning when Thomas H. tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Eastern Athletics collected 12 hits and Southern Mariners had 12 in the high-scoring affair. Southern Mariners got their offense started in the first inning when Ethan S. grounded out, scoring one run.
Southern Mariners took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. Hamish W. singled on a 2-1 count and Ned R., James Q., and Bodhi E. all drew walks to bring home runs.
Eastern Athletics tallied three runs in the sixth inning on doubles by Cliff N. and Matthew G. and a groundout by Reiley M.
Southern Mariners scored nine runs in the sixth inning with singles from Jackson B., Ned, James, and Thomas, plus walks by Riku T., Rafferty G., Harper S., and Jackson.
Rafferty got the start for Southern Mariners, giving up five runs on three hits over two innings, striking out four.
Matthew pitched for Eastern with seven runs on four hits over three and a third innings and three strikeouts. Harvey D., Aston D., and Edison B. pitched in relief.
Eastern Athletics launched one home run on the day as Oliver A. went deep in the first inning. Cliff, Matthew, Harvey, and Jonathan P. all had multiple hits.
Jackson, Thomas, and James all racked up multiple hits for Southern Mariners.
Eastern Athletics 20 v Twins 10
Twins watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 20-10 loss to Eastern Athletics on Saturday. Eastern scored in the first on doubles by Jonathan P. and Matthew G. and a single by Oliver A.
Twins collected 11 hits and Eastern Athletics had 18 in the high-scoring affair. Eastern Athletics fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jonathan doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Twins put up three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Brodie S. and Nikau G., all sending runners across the plate with RBIs.
Eastern Athletics scored six runs in the sixth inning with RBIs from Aston D., Harvey D., Alessio P., Jonathan, and Oliver.
Nathan H. was on the hill for Eastern Athletics. The pitcher surrendered four runs on five hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Louie S. started the game for Twins. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out five and walking one. Mitchell L. and Maison R. entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Baycats 10 v Twins Black 0
Baycats defeated Twins Black 10-0 as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Baycats got their offense started in the first inning when Theo H. doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Baycats scored four more runs in the second inning with singles from Lucas J. and Fabian H., a groundout by Theo, and a double by Reuben M.
One bright spot for Twins Black was a double by Connor B. in the fifth inning.
Theo was on the hill for Baycats, giving up no runs or hits over three innings with eight strikeouts.
Cohen P. was on the mound for Twins Black. The pitcher went four innings, allowing ten runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one. Otis K. threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Baycats launched one home run on the day as Tylah L. went deep in the fifth inning.
Baycats had 14 hits in the game, with three apiece for Lucas and Reuben. Fabian, George S., and Xavier F. had two hits each as the team also enjoyed a clean fielding game. Lucas had 12 fielding chances, the most on the team.
Eastern Athletics 10 v Twins Orange 7
This back-and-forth battle started with five runs for Twins, but Eastern Athletics tied it up in the bottom of the first before eventually taking the lead.
Eastern's Michael N. made a big difference at the plate with timely hits and RBIs, while Beckett S., Flynn S., Joseph H., Harry D., and Keiran H. had hits for Twins Orange.
Noah A. started the game for Twins Orange as Beau D. took to the mound for Eastern.
Mariners White 9 v Eastern Athletics 7
Both teams scored four runs in the first, with Mariners just pulling ahead after outhitting Athletics 6-4.
Molly L., Leo S., Samuel W., and Thomas S. recorded hits and RBIs for Mariners White. Patrick M. doubled and brought three runners home.
Eastern's Michael N. tripled, John G. doubled, and Charles R. and Patrick L. singled.
Ezekiel S. struck out four while on the mound for Mariners, with Samuel W. also putting in pitching work.
Oscar M., Charles R., and Ewan C. handled pitching duties for Eastern.
Mariners White had 11 stolen bases and Eastern Athletics stole nine.
Twins Orange 12 v Mariners Teal 4
Twins Orange won 12-4 on Friday with Joseph H. going 2-for-2 to make an impact at the plate.
Mariners Teal scored on a double by Chase P. in the first, with another three runs coming in the third, although Twins Orange scored five in the first, four in the second, and three in the third.
Arlo V. was on the mound for Twins Orange. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out eight.
Aiden I. and Chase pitched for Mariners Teal, giving up four hits while Mariners had eight hits of their own.
Twins Black 9 v Mariners Teal 5
Twins Black snagged a late lead to defeat Mariners Teal 9-5 on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Twins Black batting in the bottom of the fourth when Alyssa J. singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Twins Black earned the victory despite allowing Mariners Teal to score four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Chase P., Aiden I., Kai C., and Hayley D., all knocking in runs in the inning.
Twins Black took an early lead in the first inning as Cohen P. singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Lucas K. was on the mound for Twins Black. The fireballer allowed zero hits and one run over one inning, striking out three and walking zero.
James W. was on the pitcher's mound for Mariners Teal. James surrendered five runs on four hits over three and a third innings, striking out six.

Baycats 11 v Mariners White 1
Tylah L. was clutch at the plate, driving in six runs on three hits to lead Baycats past Mariners White 11-1 on Saturday. Tylah drove in runs on a home run in the third and another homer in the fourth.
Baycats got on the board in the first inning on a wild pitch before pulling away for good with five runs in the second. Fabian H. homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs and Lucas J. doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Baycats tallied five more runs in the third inning with a walk by George S., a home run by Tylah., and a fielder's choice by Xavier F.
Cale M. got the start for Baycats. The ace lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out two.
Molly L. threw two and a third innings for Mariners White.
Baycats totaled 17 hits in the game. Tylah, Huga T., Theo H., Fabian, and Reuben M. all collected multiple hits.
Mariners White didn't commit a single error in the field as Sage W. had the most chances with three.
