For the third straight year, the Under 16 State Winter Championships will be hosted by Latrobe Valley Baseball Association at Morwell Cougars and Traralgon Red Sox Baseball Clubs.
The U16 SWC will run from 13-14 July, with Morwell hosting Division 1 games between City West, Dandenong, Diamond Valley, Geelong, and Ringwood.
Over at Traralgon, Latrobe Valley, Bendigo, Diamond Valley, North East, and Ringwood will play in Division 2.
“We’ve had a great time at all our State Winter Championships so far, and we can’t wait to see what the Under 16 teams bring to the table as they play hard and have fun,” BV Tournament Officer Tony McPherson said. “Thank you to Latrobe Valley Baseball Association and all the dedicated volunteers at Morwell and Traralgon Baseball Clubs who are making this event possible.”
There will be 20 games across Saturday and Sunday morning to decide the semi-finalists leading into an action-packed afternoon of finals.
“Latrobe Valley Baseball Association is excited to once again host the Under 16 State Winter Championship, and we wish everyone the best of luck,” President Brad Jones said. “Thank you to Baseball Victoria and Latrobe City Council for the ongoing opportunity and support, and of course all the club volunteers who bring these events to life.”
Baseball Victoria’s official photography partner Field of View will be around the grounds snapping pictures throughout the weekend, while Claire and Hugo from Ausport Superstore will be at Morwell on Saturday from 8:30am-2:30pm.
