The losses on Day 3 of the 2019 Australian Senior League Championships to Sunraysia and Twins mean

that our Victorian representatives have finished in the bottom two of their pools but there’s still plenty more action to

come on Day 4 as finals begin!

 

Twins 5, Manly 8 I Box Score

 

Manly Takes Early Lead In Victory Over Twins

 

Manly defeated Twins 8-5 thanks to a strong start. Manly scored on a walk by Joshua Beezley, a

fielder's choice during Zac Newbold at bat, a double by Luke Brown , and a double by Caden Crouch in

the second inning.

 

Manly pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Beezey drew a walk, scoring

one run, Alex Pham's wild pitch allowed one run to score for ManlyBrown doubled on a 2-1 count,

scoring three runs, and Crouch doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

 

Max Milner got the start for Manly. They went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on one hit,

striking out one and walking one.

 

Pham started the game for Twins. They allowed three hits and five runs over one and two-thirds

innings. Tim Liersch and Zachary Gorman entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third

innings and two innings respectively.

 

Manly tallied seven hits on the day. Crouch and Brown each collected multiple hits

for ManlyBrown and Crouch each collected two hits to lead Manly.

 

Twins was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. McLeod Sell made the most plays with six.



 

Western Suns 15, Sunraysia Giants 5 I Box Score


Western Suns wrapped up pool play at #ASLC2019 with a 2-1 record following an impressive 15-5 win over Sunraysia Giants.

The Suns scored nine runs in the second to break the contest open.

Daniel Carter finished with a team-high three RBI, while Tyson Noel, Dustin Brown and Trent Daniele drove in two runs each.

Western Suns starter Andrew Hurrelbrink struck out three in two scoreless innings.

Cody Morrish’s two-run double in the fifth helped the Giants cut the deficit to 10.


Day 4 gets underway at 8.45am local time tomorrow.
