Eastern Athletics have been enjoying their time at the 2019 Australian Junior League Championships in Adelaide, SA.

Impressive performances throughout the lineup have given the Athletics the chance to bounce back from a tough opening loss with two back-to-back victories. Now 2-1 heading into Thursday’s quarter-finals, the Athletics hope to keep up the momentum, and Harry Elustondo is eager to show off more of his incredible hitting power.

In Tuesday’s 11-4 win over Illawarra, the 14-year-old absolutely smashed the ball over the senior fence for a 350-foot home run. It was an amazing moment for the Athletics, as the team rushed to greet Harry at home plate and celebrate with him.

Harry was given the ball to keep as a memento of his big accomplishment, and his powerful homer isn’t something he’s likely to forget anytime sooner. “It felt really good, I haven’t been swinging the bat well recently and it felt good to make contact and help the team,” Harry said. “As soon as it hit the bat I knew it was going.”

Harry says the tournament has been great so far with his team, but they need to keep working hard to make it all the way. “Our defense has been really good and our bats really started to swing this game.”

Congratulations to Harry on this huge highlight, and good luck to Eastern Athletics in the rest of #AJLC2019.
