WA still undefeated at the U18 Champs

Western Australia has yet to lose a game at the 2015 Under 18 National Youth Championships in Sydney. Although they still have a postponed game to play they are proving their dominance and showing the other teams they are here to win.

New South Wales v Western Australia

Western Australia had the lead early in the game with New South Wales fighting for the win in late innings. Although NSW put a run on in the ninth it wasn’t enough to steal the win from undefeated WA, losing the game 4-5. Each team went through four pitchers in an effort to shut the other teams batters down.

ACT v South Australia

With a 10-8 win over South Australia, ACT is proving to be a strong contender for the finals. Ryan McLennan had a two RBI double and a single to score two of the ten runs for ACT. Excellent pitching for ACT with Mitchell Hughson coming in to pitch 4.1 innings giving up no hits and striking out 7. 

Victoria White v Victoria Blue

In a battle between the two Victorian teams, Victoria Blue came out with the win 10-6 over Victoria White. Both teams were keeping it close through to the 8th inning when Vic Blue added five runs with three RBI doubles and three singles. 

Country NSW v Queensland

Country New South Wales took out their fourth win of the championships, defeating Queensland 6-3. Murray Lugg was on fire for Country with a RBI triple to centerfield in the 3rd, followed by another triple to centerfield in the 9th. Alexander Wells also had a triple to centerfield with two RBIs earning his 4th place ranking for batting average at the championship.
