Women's Week 9

Springvale held on for a 9-8 win over Doncaster in Women’s Division 1 while Essendon finished 14-4 in front of Footscray.

In Women's Division 2, Doncaster picked up a 6-2 win at Footscray as Essendon scored 15 runs and shut out Geelong. Newport recorded a 27-1 victory at North Western while Melbourne beat the second Rams team 13-4.

Malvern added runs in each inning for a 19-7 victory against Waverley Black in Women's Division 3 East. Research Lower Plenty staged a late comeback but fell just short with Waverley Red winning 8-7. Preston got in the win column with a 14-6 outing at Upwey Ferntree Gully.

A busy day at the plate in Women's Division 3 South ended with an 11-all draw between Moorabbin and St Kilda. Pakenham pulled ahead of Chelsea 8-5 and South East Warriors remain undefeated for another week after winning 9-6 at Springvale.

In Women's Division 3 West, Werribee scored the winning run in the final frame for a 25-24 victory vs. Newport. Geelong is still undefeated after overpowering North Western 16-2. Fitzroy also kept up the perfect record with an 18-2 performance at Essendon while Port Melbourne won 16-1 at Mitchell Majors.

Seniors Week 9

Division 1 Firsts: An eight-run first inning set the scene for Moorabbin's 14-9 win over Geelong while Sunshine beat Mulgrave 12-8. Upwey Ferntree Gully won 7-2 at Malvern and Essendon came away from Melbourne with a 12-4 victory. Blackburn shut out Sandringham 6-0 and Waverley came back to draw 5-5 with Berwick.

Division 2 Firsts: Werribee got the job done 14-6 vs. Newport as a back-and-forth battle between Fitzroy and Bonbeach ended with the Bluejays up 11-10. Port Melbourne snuck past Doncaster 4-3 while St Kilda won 21-3 at North Western. Cheltenham finished 25-6 over Preston and Ormond Glenhuntly won 8-3 at Williamstown.

Division 3 Firsts: Footscray picked up an 11-3 victory against Port Melbourne and Sandringham overpowered Chelsea 16-6. Mornington and Essendon finished 5-5.

Division 4 East: Research Lower Plenty Maroon won 15-5 against the Gold side while Waverley Black shut out Monash 10-0. Waverley Red scored 15 runs and gave up just one to Blackburn. Melbourne Red won 12-7 at Research Black.

Division 4 North: Mitchell Majors' undefeated streak continued with an 8-2 win at Newport while Fitzroy Maroon won 11-2 at Footscray. Greensborough got the job done 13-2 at North Coburg.

Division 4 South: Mornington shut out Upwey Ferntree Gully Gold 7-0 and South East Warriors held on for a 5-3 win at St Kilda. Pakenham Black beat Upwey FTG Black 7-6 and Pakenham White pulled ahead late for a 6-3 win at Springvale.

Masters Week 9

In Masters 38+ East, undefeated Upwey Ferntree Gully Black won 12-3 at Monash University/Ormond Glenhuntly while Melbourne beat Blackburn 7-2. Waverley kept up the pressure in a 9-2 win against Ormond GH and Upwey FTG Gold did the same, outlasting Research 6-2.

Essendon Bombers' win streak continued with a 16-3 outing vs. Werribee in Masters 38+ North West. Newport won 17-4 against Sunshine White and Port Melbourne finished 6-2 in front of Williamstown. Sunshine Blue pulled ahead late for a 10-4 victory at Pivot City. Essendon Jets broke through in the seventh for a 6-4 result against Fitzroy.

In Masters 38+ South, Cheltenham cruised to a 10-1 win against Chelsea as Mornington beat Bonbeach White 18-5. Bonbeach Blue ended up 7-1 at Pakenham/Berwick and a battle of the two Springvale teams saw the Tomatoes top the Bigcats 11-2.

Blackburn remains undefeated in Masters 45+ after winning 9-3 over Melbourne while Sandringham picked up a 12-7 victory at Malvern.

Juniors Week 8

U14 East Metro: A high-scoring game between Cheltenham and Sandringham ended with the Rustlers up 17-16. Doncaster also picked up a narrow win 9-8 vs. Upwey Ferntree Gully. Bonbeach/Chelsea got on the board first but Pakenham came back to win 13-8. Melbourne beat Berwick/Mulgrave 20-13 and Waverley won 24-8 at Malvern.

U14 West Metro: Essendon scored in every inning on the way to a 15-7 win vs. Sunshine while Research Lower Plenty held on for a 14-12 victory over Newport Footscray. Port Melbourne picked up a 19-7 win at North Western.

U14 East State: Waverley remains undefeated after a 9-4 victory over Malvern, while Essendon's streak also continued with a 14-4 win at Upwey FTG. Chelsea beat Melbourne 14-2 as Blackburn and Sandringham drew with six runs apiece.

U14 West State: Research won 17-4 vs. Sunshine as Essendon held off Newport's rally for an 8-5 victory. Geelong had the edge in a 14-8 contest at Werribee.

U16 Metro: Essendon beat Werribee 3-2 and North Western won 20-8 vs. Blackburn/Doncaster. Sandringham scored 17 and gave up just one to Fitzroy Blue while Williamstown won 24-9 over Fitzroy Maroon. Research/Preston won 13-2 at Malvern and Waverley got the job done 18-5 at Port Melbourne.

U16 State: Geelong came back to beat Newport 11-10 as Research/Preston prevailed 13-3 vs. Doncaster. Williamstown edged Waverley 4-3 and Sandringham overpowered Moorabbin 14-4.

U18 Metro: Cheltenham departed Doncaster with a 10-4 win while Essendon picked up a 14-5 victory at Mulgrave. Pakenham managed an 11-10 victory despite a strong rally from Sandringham as St Kilda beat Sunshine 19-4.

U18 State: Essendon won 9-1 vs. Newport and Research Preston prevailed 12-2 against Melbourne. Sunshine's rally fell just short as Werribee won 10-7. Sandringham won 14-4 at Malvern and Bonbeach Moorabbin ended up 6-2 over Waverley. A back-and-forth contest ended in a 10-all draw for Blackburn Upwey FTG and Geelong.

Under 12s Week 7

U12 A State East: Blackburn started strong and finished 13-8 in front of Waverley. Cheltenham/Moorabbin beat Sandringham 7-4 and Melbourne won 17-5 vs. Bonbeach. Chelsea picked up a 16-4 win at Malvern.

U12 A State West: Essendon and Research Lower Plenty were busy on the bases as the Bombers won 20-10. Port Melbourne rallied late but Geelong put the game out of reach 8-4. Research Lower Plenty Maroon prevailed 9-4 vs. Newport.

U12 B East: Chelsea pulled in front of St Kilda 15-11, with the same score in Melbourne's victory over Sandringham. Springvale beat Berwick 16-11.

U12 B West: Preston had a good day at the plate winning 18-6 against Research Blue while Essendon held off Newport Red in a fun 19-14 game. Fitzroy Maroon finished in front of Williamstown 14-6.

U12 Baycats: Geelong Lake Monsters held on for a 14-12 win vs. Firefrogs as Riverdogs came back to draw with the Mudhens 8-8.

Eastern Athletics Metro A: There were three shutouts as Blackburn Black won 12-0 vs. Greenhills Monty Black, Malvern Blue beat Doncaster Green 7-0, and Melbourne won 9-0 vs. Monty White. Blackburn Grey came away with a 7-4 victory against the White team as Ormond Glenhuntly won 12-1 at Doncaster Gold. Upwey tied it up late for a 1-1 draw with Malvern Red.

Eastern Athletics Metro B Gold: Blackburn battled back for a 13-10 win vs. Melbourne White as Malvern Red edged Melbourne Blue 15-12. Melbourne Stars prevailed 27-24 at Malvern Blue and Ormond Glenhuntly went 23-13 vs. Melbourne Red.

Eastern Athletics Metro B Green: Waverley Blackcats won 21-14 over Upwey FTG White while the Tigers Gold team won 29-16 at Doncaster. Waverley Wildcats won 20-12 at Upwey FTG Black. A Waverley battle saw the Panthers come back for a 15-14 win over the Cougars.

Southern Mariners Intermediate: Chelsea scored 20 runs and gave up just one to Cheltenham. Sandringham won 12-8 vs. Bonbeach/Chelsea and Moorabbin edged Ormond Glenhuntly 11-8.
