A beloved winter baseball tradition returns to Werribee Giants Baseball Club this weekend with the 2023 U12 State Winter Championship from 15-16 July.
Eight teams are taking part in the junior baseball fun, which will start Saturday morning and culminate in Pool 1 and Pool 2 grand finals on Sunday afternoon. Dandenong, Diamond Valley, Geelong, and Ringwood are playing in Pool 1 while Bendigo, City West, North Eastern, and the BV Belles all-girls team make up Pool 2.
After a successful event last year, the Werribee baseball community is excited for another awesome showcase of junior baseball in Victoria.
“We are honoured to host the U12 State Winter Champs, with four diamonds ready to go for an action-packed weekend,” Club President David Bishop-Worn said. “We hope to see many supporters out and about as we welcome teams from around the state.”
Baseball Victoria is pleased to have a strong turnout of teams and support from Home Run Partners like Ausport, who will be there with the latest baseball gear on Saturday from 8am-2pm.
Field of View Sports Photography will also be on hand for team photos and action shots, plus osteopaths from Osteo Sports Network are coming to the tournament, too.
“Thank you to all our winter associations, host venues, partners, and of course the participants who make the State Winter Championships possible,” BV CEO Chet Gray said. “We can’t wait for the U12 action to get underway this weekend and we wish everyone the best of luck as our winter tournament season continues.”
