The 2019/20 VSBL Women's Divisions 1, 2 and 3 seasons are underway in exciting fashion, with awesome displays of teamwork and athleticism on display every weekend. So far Springvale is leading the way in Division 1 with Doncaster not far behind, while the same clubs are neck-and-neck with 4-0 records in Division 2. Meanwhile Melbourne and Moorabbin are undefeated in Division 3 East, with Cheltenham on top in Division 3 South. Geelong Baycats Blue and Sunshine remain the leading teams in Division 3 West.
Women's Division 1

The Lions handed the Bulldogs their fourth loss of the season as Springvale improved to three wins and one draw. This was
Japanese import Ayumi Ikeyama was crucial for Springvale, racking up four hits in a huge game as the Lions reached double-digit runs for the first time this season.
Footscray's offense wasn't quiet either, with doubles from Brittney Cedelland and Amanda Torrington. Megan Kelly, Morgan Doty, Holly Howard, Rachel Howard and Abbey McLellan all contributed singles, although the solid offensive production wasn't enough to match Springvale's. Cedelland pitched 2.1 innings with three unearned runs and one unearned run allowed, while Doty covered two innings with three runs scored. In Jade Yuen's first game for Footscray Women's Division 1 this year, she had an RBI.

The Lions were thrilled to topple the ladder leaders with strong pitching and consistent hitting. Back-to-back wins have Fitzroy feeling fine while Sunshine looks to regroup before facing Geelong Baycats White this weekend.
