The 2023 BV All-Girls Winter Invitational wrapped up on Sunday at Strathfieldsaye Dodgers Baseball Club with four action-packed games between U13 and U17 teams.

U17 Aces 10, U17 Blue Sox 7
Saya Turnley got things moving for U17 Blue Sox with an RBI single in the first inning. A series of walks put Aces in front 5-2 at the end of the inning.
Ruby Benne and Mollie Wayenberg singled in the bottom of the second as Aces made it 10-2. Blue Sox battled hard in the third with base hits by Macy Priamo, Turnley, Alanah Rose, and Mackenzie Prentice-Evans.
Emily Loong picked up the win for Aces with five hits and four strikeouts in 2.2 innings on the mound. Rose and Simpson shared pitching duties for Blue Sox.
U13 Giants 13, U13 Bandits 10
U13 Giants ran off with the lead late in the game in a 13-10 victory over U13 Bandits on Sunday. The game was tied at ten with Giants batting in the bottom of the fourth when Samara McCallum singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Giants collected nine hits and Bandits five in the high-scoring game.
Bandits got things started in the first inning. Maddy Haynes grounded out, scoring one run.
Both sides scored five runs in the third. Bandits scored when Haynes singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, Alexandra Egan singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, and Alexia Hunkin singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Giants then answered when Sophie Bird singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Sophie Berry doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, and Ayla McCallum tripled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Paige Anders got the start for Giants. The fireballer surrendered ten runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
Egan led things off on the hill for Bandits. The bulldog lasted two and a third innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out seven. Evangelynn Lane threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.
Giants saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Jessie Hoare and Bird had two hits apiece while Giants stolen 15 bases and four players stole more than one. Blair Murphy led the way with three.
Bandits didn't commit a single error as Haynes had the most chances in the field with seven.
U17 Blue Sox 5, U17 Aces 3
U17 Blue Sox snagged a late lead and defeated U17 Aces 5-3 on Sunday. The game was tied at three with Blue Sox batting in the bottom of the fourth when Lilly Simpson doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Blue Sox got things moving in the first inning. Mia Llewellyn drew a walk, scoring one run.
Saya Turnley was on the hill for Blue Sox. She threw four innings, allowing three runs on one hit, striking out 11 and walking one.
Ebony Sutherland was on the mound for Aces. She gave up three runs on one hit over two innings, striking out three. Leah Antonacci threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Simpson went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Blue Sox in hits.
Makayla Pool led Aces with two of the team's seven stolen bases.
U13 Bandits 10, U13 Giants 8
U13 Bandits stole the lead late in the game in a 10-8 victory over U13 Giants on Sunday afternoon. The game was tied at seven with Bandits batting in the bottom of the third when they scored two runs on a stolen base.
Giants scored five runs in the first inning with RBIs by Ayla McCallum, Jessie Hoare, and Lily Byrne.
Lila Atkinson led things off on the hill for Bandits. The pitcher lasted two and a third innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out three.
Lillie Brockwell pitched for Giants before Josie Wright and Blair Murphy entered the game out of the bullpen, each throwing one inning.
Georgia Lovell led Bandits with two hits in two at-bats. The team tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Alexandra Egan led the way with four.
Giants totaled seven hits, including two apiece for Sophie Bird and Byrne. Sophie Berry made the most plays with four in a clean fielding game.
