Baseball Victoria has several updates to the Board including the appointment of three new directors.
Rob Stanley, Amy McCann, and Matt Nichol have been appointed to the board to fill casual vacancies, which will be ratified at the AGM.
- Rob Stanley will join as the Finance Director and chair the Finance and Audit Committee. Stanley is an accountant and has a background in finance at several sporting organisations including Cricket Australia. “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to use my experience to help Baseball Victoria and seeing where we can take the sport over the next few years,” Stanley said. “I’m also keen to work with my fellow directors to ensure the sport remains strong for the Victorian baseball community.”
- Amy McCann joins with extensive baseball playing experience including state and national teams. McCann is starting her broadcasting career and was part of the recent Women’s Super Saturday Livestream. “It is an honour to be joining the Board of Baseball Victoria as it embarks on a new strategic plan,” McCann said. “I am keen to apply the unique insight and knowledge gained from three decades in baseball as a player and coach across all levels, in addition to my professional experience working in the sporting industry at the national and international level.”
- Matt Nichol has worked within the Melbourne Winter Baseball structure, with many years of playing and administrative experience. “I am excited to join the Baseball Victoria Board and bring my experience to the table to benefit the organisation and our baseball community,” Nichol said. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow directors and supporting Victorian baseball as we plan strategically for the future.”
Myles Foreman will be stepping down from the role of Baseball Victoria President and resigning as a director at the upcoming annual general meeting on Tuesday, 20 April 2021 after six years in the role and eight years on the Board. Baseball Victoria is thankful for Myles and his countless contributions to baseball over the years unfortunately, Myles' term of office as President concludes at this AGM in accordance with the Constitution.
Director Sam Taylor has resigned from his Directors position, creating an additional casual vacancy.
The Baseball Victoria Board thanks Sam and Myles for their contributions and welcomes Rob, Amy, and Matt to their roles.
