Division 1
Dandenong 9, Diamond Valley 5
Dandenong was victorious against Diamond Valley 9-5 on Sunday at Albert Roy Reserve. DV was first on the board after Will Ferguson induced Samuel Blakely to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Luca Lolicato-Delaney singled, scoring two runs.
Dandenong flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring seven runs on two hits to take the lead, 9-3. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in three.
Ferguson started the game for Dandenong. The pitcher allowed one hit and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking seven. Will Mayberry appeared in relief.
Diamond Valley starter Lolicato-Delaney allowed three hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking five.
Joshua Gunawardana led Dandenong with three runs batted in. Kade Henry, Aonghus Walsh, Matt Fielden, and Hunter Richardson each collected one hit while Oscar Rey Benguigui paced the side with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game.
Rey Benguigui and Ned Richards each stole multiple bases for Dandenong as the team tallied eight stolen bases total. The defense didn't commit a single error in the field as Henry had the most fielding chances with seven.
Lolicato-Delaney, Zaine Parkinson, and Nate D'Atri each collected one hit for Diamond Valley. Lolicato-Delaney went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Ethan McMahon led with three of the team's 10 walks while Parkinson and Murphy Carrison each stole multiple bases (eight total in the game). The defense turned one double play.
Geelong 12, City West 10
Geelong built a 9-run lead in the second inning and then held off City West's charge for a 12-10 victory on Sunday. City West closed the gap by scoring on two walks, two singles, an error, a dropped third strike, and a groundout.
Geelong had four hits and City West had three in the game. Geelong jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after a dropped third strike scored one run. Toby Arnott, Lachlan Connors, Sid Grimmer, and Patrick Johnson drew bases-loaded walks and an error scored another two runs.
Geelong added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after two errors. They extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Qasim (Karson) Khan and Connors.
City West scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. Alyssa Jamieson singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, a dropped third strike scored one run, and Riley Hamling grounded out, scoring two runs.
Grimmer led things off on the hill for Geelong. The pitcher surrendered one hit and four runs over two innings, striking out one and walking seven. Jacob Young appeared in relief.
City West starter Connor Barrow allowed three hits and 12 runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out five and walking eight.
Connors went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Leadoff hitter Johnson led Geelong with two hits in two at-bats. Arnott took two of the team's eight walks, plus stole multiple bases alongside Khan and Alex Papadopoulos. They had 11 stolen bases total plus a double play on defense.
Zayaan Tabish, Chase Messinger, and Jamieson each collected one hit for City West. Shun Thong, Hamling, and Messinger drove in two runs apiece while the team tallied nine walks total. Charlie Dolan, Ben Harbour, and Andie Torcasio led the team with two free passes each. Harbour and Ikroop Singh each stole multiple bases with eight overall in the game.
Geelong 6, Diamond Valley 3
Geelong beat Diamond Valley 6-3 on Sunday at Albert Roy Reserve after scoring on an Alex Papadopoulos single in the first.
Diamond Valley scored on a wild pitch, tying the game at one in the top of the second. They regained the lead in the fourth after Zaine Parkinson singled to center field and Angus Friend grounded out, each scoring one run.
Geelong flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Jack Northfield that drove in two.
Thomas Rome stepped on the mound first for Geelong. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking four.
Joshua Antonacci began the game for Diamond Valley. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and six runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two.
Toby Arnott tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Geelong in relief. The pitcher allowed one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Northfield led Geelong with two runs batted in as the leadoff hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Northfield and Ash Kaberry each collected two hits, with the latter stealing two bases. The team tallied six stolen bases total plus a double play on defense.
Parkinson led Diamond Valley with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Antonacci went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the side in hits, and stole multiple bases along with Parkinson. The team stole eight bases in the game.
Diamond Valley was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Nate D'Atri had the most fielding chances with five.
Ringwood 8, City West 2
Ringwood defeated City West 8-2 on Sunday at Albert Roy Reserve, thanks in part to four runs in the fourth inning. An error scored one run, a wild pitch scored two runs, and Keinosuke Lee singled, scoring one run.
Ringwood was first to get on board in the third when Lee grounded out, scoring one run.
Alessio Petruzziello stepped on the bump first for Ringwood. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking three.
Charlie Dolan stepped on the hill first for City West. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and five runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking five.
Lee provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Ringwood with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Lee, Angus Saggers, Aime Fleischer, and Matthew Brache each collected one hit. Jess Marsh led with two of the team's seven walks. Harvey Devlin and Marsh each stole multiple bases with nine total in the game.
Ben Harbour and Zayaan Tabish each collected one hit for City West. Shun Thong stole two bases.
Grand Final: Dandenong 9, Geelong 8
Aonghus Walsh drove in four runs on two hits to lead Dandenong past Geelong 9-8 on Sunday at Albert Roy Reserve. Walsh hit a sacrifice fly in the third scoring one, singled in the fifth scoring one, and singled in the eighth scoring two.
Dandenong came back to win despite trailing 8-4 in the eighth. Geelong opened scoring in the second after Patrick Johnson grounded out, scoring one run. They added a run in the third after Parks Halasz doubled to center field.
Dandenong tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a sacrifice fly by Walsh and a groundout by Kade Henry.
In the bottom of the fifth, Dandenong broke up the tie when Walsh singled, scoring one run. Then a double by Matt Fielden followed to extend the lead to 4-2.
Geelong tied it back up at the top of the sixth thanks to a single by Johnson and a fielder's choice by Qasim (Karson) Khan. In the top of the eighth inning, Geelong went back into the lead after Halasz singled to center field and a wild pitch.
Dandenong didn't go down without a fight, tying it up in the bottom of the eighth thanks to three singles, including Walsh's base hit to make it 8-8.
Ned Richards led things off on the mound for Dandenong. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out six and walking four. Kycen Dowling and Theo Rutgers each appeared in relief.
Brandon McDowall led things off on the bump for Geelong. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking three.
Number nine hitter Rutgers showed the depth of Dandenong's lineup by leading them with three hits in four at-bats. The team had patience at the plate, totalling six walks for the game. Henry and Will Ferguson led the team with two bases on balls each.
Halasz drove the middle of the lineup, leading Geelong with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Halasz and Johnson each collected two hits while Jack Northfield paced the side with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game.
Consolation Final: Ringwood 6, Diamond Valley 5
Ringwood topped Diamond Valley 6-5 on Sunday after an error in the first scored one run. Murphy Carrison doubled down the left field line, which helped DV tie the game at one in the top of the second.
Diamond Valley took the lead in the top of the third. Darcy Squire singled, scoring one run, to give them a 2-1 lead. Jonathan Ryan walked, which helped Ringwood tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.
A groundout by Angus Saggers gave Ringwood the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the fourth. Diamond Valley's Jordan Bell singled to center field, tying the game at three in the top of the fifth.
Diamond Valley took the lead in the top of the sixth inning after Zaine Parkinson grounded out and Ethan McMahon walked, each scoring one run.
Ringwood captured a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth when Keinosuke Lee doubled, scoring two runs, and Angus Friend induced Harvey Devlin to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Cheng-Yen (Max) Wu led things off on the bump for Ringwood. The hurler allowed four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking four. Lee appeared in relief.
Diamond Valley starter Samuel Blakely surrendered four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two and walking seven.
Lee provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Ringwood with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Devlin, Joseph Matyear, Lee, Saggers, and Thomas Bowden each collected one hit.
Ringwood had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Wu and Jess Marsh led the team with two free passes each. Devlin and Wu each stole multiple bases with eight overall.
Bell, Parkinson, Carrison, Jacob Kulkens, Squire, Blakely, and Nate D'Atri each collected one hit for Diamond Valley. Bell, McMahon, Parkinson, and Carrison each drove in one run. Diamond Valley took 10 walks with two apiece for Joshua Antonacci, Kulkens, and Squire. Parkinson stole four bases with eight overall in the game. Meanwhile, the defense turned one double play.
Division 2
Latrobe Valley 13, Sunraysia 2
Latrobe Valley scored seven runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Sunraysia 13-2 on Sunday. Jared Thomas, Alex Smith, and Connor McKenzie all hit RBI singles before Coadhey Rebbechi was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Joshua Dortmans and Liam Duncan drew bases-loaded walks while Harrison Kus singled, scoring one run.
Latrobe Valley got on board in the bottom of the first inning after Kus and Thomas singled, each scoring one run and Riely Halupka induced Smith to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Ryan Glass drew a walk, scoring one run, and Duncan singled, scoring two runs.
Smith stepped on the bump first for Latrobe Valley. The starter surrendered two hits and one run over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two. Jack Thomas appeared in relief.
Halupka led things off on the mound for Sunraysia. The starter surrendered five hits and 10 runs (seven earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking four.
Thomas and Kus were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits while hitting back-to-back. Duncan went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Duncan led Latrobe Valley with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game.
Diesel Fallon and Halupka were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Sunraysia. Halupka went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the side in hits.
North East 14, Bendigo 7
North East won big over Bendigo 14-7 on Sunday. North East got on board in the top of the first inning after Cruz Wayneburg hit a sacrifice fly and Michael Nistico, Sophie Berry, Makayla Pool, Taylor Jones, and Tanner Godenzi all walked. A wild pitch brought home another run.
North East extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI errors by Joshua Wells and Berry. In the third, Angus Weal grounded out, Wayneburg singled to left field, Nistico walked, and Wells stole home, each scoring one run.
Bendigo scored six runs on one hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jackson Harris drew a walk, Riley Harrington grounded out, Archer Etherton was struck by a pitch, and Sioeli Parsons drew a walk, each scoring one run. Deon Strahan doubled, scoring two more.
Godenzi led things off on the mound for North East. The hurler gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Wayneburg and Nistico each appeared in relief.
Wayneburg, Weal, and Wells had one hit apiece for North East. Wayneburg and Nistico each drove in two runs while Godenzi paced the side with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 11 walks for the game. Wells stole two bases.
Strahan provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Bendigo with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Strahan and Fynn Murphy each collected one hit and stole multiple bases.
Grand Final: Latrobe Valley 11, North East 0
Jared Thomas collected three hits in three at-bats, as Latrobe Valley defeated North East 11-0 in Sunday's grand final. Thomas tripled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled again in the fifth.
Latrobe Valley won thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Alex Smith doubled, scoring one run, Connor McKenzie singled, scoring two runs, Sophie Berry induced Lian Duncan to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Jack Thomas singled, scoring two runs.
Latrobe Valley got on board in the bottom of the first inning after Harrison Kus singled to center field, Thomas tripled down the right field line, and North East committed an error, each scoring one run.
Latrobe Valley added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Smith singled to center field and a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

Godenzi led North East with one hit in two at-bats and stole two bases.
Consolation Final: Sunraysia 10, Bendigo 3
Sunraysia outlasted Bendigo 10-3, scoring in the top of the first after Riely Halupka walked, Reece R Scott walked, and Josh Pelltz grounded out, each scoring one run.
Sunraysia extended their early lead with four runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Jack Lang, Halupka, and Pelltz. Ryan Evans hit a sacrifice fly, and Halupka singled to the right side of the infield, each scoring one run in the third.
Marcus Murphy started on the hill for Bendigo. The pitcher surrendered zero hits and three runs (two earned) over one inning, striking out two and walking four.
Diesel Fallon stepped on the hill first for Sunraisya. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking two.
Fynn Murphy went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Asha Murphy stole two bases.
Halupka and Pelltz each drove in three runs for Sunraysia. Lang led with three of the team's 10 walks. Halupka and Darcey Roden each stole multiple bases with 11 total in the game.
