NSW advances to the gold medal game at Womens Champs

Round robin play at the  2015 National Women’s Championships in Canberra is complete. Undefeated New South Wales will automatically advance to the Gold Medal game and the remaining teams will play for spots in both the Gold and Bronze medal games on Saturday. 

ACT v Presidents Friendship Team

ACT secured their first win of the championship with solid hitting across the team and 5 great innings on the mound from Kate Russell.  ACT player Eliza Russell had a triple to left field in the 4th and Olivia DeGruchy with two hits and two runs. ACT and the Presidents Friendship Team will play each other again tomorrow in the semi-final for the opportunity to play for a national medal. 

New South Wales v Victoria

Victoria were able to put three runs on the board before New South Wales added nine of their own to win the game 14-7. NSW had a strong lineup which allowed them to get a great game under their belt before qualifying for the Gold Medal game on Saturday. Victorian Bronwyn Gell hit well with a triple, a double and a single and NSW player Olivia Bannon had a double and two singles.
