The 2020 Australian Youth Championships continued on Monday for the fourth day of action-packed games. Victoria Blue and Victoria White both finish the day with 2-4 records in the U16 event, while Victoria Blue is 4-2 to stay in the top three in the U18s with Victoria White coming in at 1-4.
Day five of #AYC2020 will bring more fantastic matchups as Victorian teams continue to make the most of their time at the tournament.
DAY FOUR RESULTS - U16 VICTORIA BLUE & WHITE
Victoria White 10 v Country New South Wales 4
Harper Rickard had two hits as Victoria White picked up a crucial U16 win over Country New South Wales at #AYC2020.
Victoria White has given its hopes of playing for a U16 medal a boost, improving to 2-3 with a 10-4 win over Country New South Wales on Monday morning.
White scored nine late runs to break open a tight ballgame dominated early by strong pitching on diamond four at Geelong Baseball Centre.

Vic White scored first but trailed 2-1 entering the bottom of the fourth before an offensive surge.
They scored three in the fourth, four in the fifth and another two in the sixth to take a commanding lead.
Harper Rickard had two hits at the top of the order.
Joel Prpic, Alek Siddans and Finnley McGrath had two RBIs each.
Liam Herbert and Jackson Frame collected two hits for Country.
Campbell Every worked three scoreless relief innings for Victoria White.
Western Australia 18 v Victoria Blue 6
Jaxon Limpus had five hits and four RBIs as Western Australia downed Victoria Blue in a U16 shootout at #AYC2020.

Western Australia took advantage of errors to plate 10 runs in the second and blow the game open.
Victoria Blue threatened to rally but a six-run fourth made sure of a WA win.
Limpus starred and Lewdon TeMara, Taj Schofield, Ethan Oliphant and Finlay Duncan chipped in with two RBIs.
Bronson Neave homered for Vic Blue, finishing with four RBIs.
Western Australia 10 v Victoria White 4
Western Australia made it two-from-two in their U16 double dip against the Victorian teams at #AYC2020.
Western Australia has moved into second spot behind New South Wales on the U16 standings after defeating Victoria White on Monday.
WA (4-2) jumped out to an early lead and piled on four insurance runs in the fifth on their way to a 10-4 win on diamond two at Geelong.

Ben Randall’s RBI-single opened the scoring in the first ahead of Western Australia extending its lead to 4-0 in the second.
Jaxon Limpus doubled and Aden Browne singled to drive in runs.
Joel Prpic’s two-run double put Vic White on the board in the third.
WA added a fourth-inning run and four in the fifth to pull away.
Limpus finished with three RBIs on three hits and Browne two on two hits.
Finlay Duncan also had two hits.
Riley Marsh did not allow a run in 2 1/3 scoreless relief innings for WA.
Western Australia closes its opening round schedule against New South Wales (first, 6-0) at Melbourne Ballpark from 4pm tomorrow.
Victoria White plays Victoria Blue from 1pm at Melbourne.
Queensland 17 v Victoria Blue 8
Queensland will play for a U16 medal on Wednesday after knocking Victoria Blue out of contention for a top-four finish on Monday afternoon.
Twelve unanswered runs lifted Queensland to a 17-8 win and improved their record to 4-2, level with South Australia and Western Australia.

The trio will be after a spot in Wednesday’s gold medal game against New South Wales when the opening round wraps up tomorrow.
Damon Orr drove in four runs to help seal victory against Vic Blue.
Jackson Grounds chipped in with three RBIs and Cain McClelland went 4-for-5.
Declan Speirs and Charlie O’Connell drove in two runs each for Victoria Blue.

Victoria White 4 v Victoria Blue 12
Victoria Blue picked up an important win over Victoria White to boost its hopes of making the #AYC2020 U18 gold medal game.
Blue triumphed 12-4 to improve to 4-2 ahead of tomorrow’s final day of opening round action.

Mitchell Homfray had four hits and Angus Stals worked five one-run innings in relief, striking out six.
A four-run fourth broke a 3-3 deadlock for Victoria Blue.
Henry Hayman’s RBI-single put Vic Blue on top ahead of a couple of bases-loaded walks.
Victoria Blue piled on five runs in the eighth to extend their advantage.
Hayman, Dante Caruso, Nathan Smith and Jaycob Pascuzzi each drove in two runs.
Trenell Hutchins had two RBIs for Victoria White.
