Quarter final four result: Swan Hills Aces 11, Adelaide Waves 1
Swan Hills Aces set up a semi-final against Hills, overpowering Adelaide Waves 11-1 in their #AJCL2018 quarter-final.
The Aces scored five runs in the bottom of the third to break a 1-1 tie and added five more in the fourth to claim an impressive win.
Maddux Stivey continued his impressive tournament, driving in three runs, while Cameron Harapeet and Ben Ferencakovic finished with a couple of RBIs.
On the mound, Tyson Noel struck out seven in five one-run innings.
Swan Hills Aces set up a semi-final against Hills, overpowering Adelaide Waves 11-1 in their #AJCL2018 quarter-final.
The Aces scored five runs in the bottom of the third to break a 1-1 tie and added five more in the fourth to claim an impressive win.

Darcy Longstaff homered as Eastern Athletics held off Northern Metros, prevailing 8-7 in consolation game four at #AJLC2018.
The Athletics scored five early runs and after the Metros hit back used a three-run fourth to extend their lead to five runs.
Northern scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Longstaff’s two-run homer in the first made it 5-0.
Jimin Lee drove in three runs for the Athletics.

Quarter-final two result: Twins 15, Southern Mariners 8
Twins are into an #AJLC2018 semi-final following a hard-fought 15-8 victory over Southern Mariners on Diamond 1.
The Twins broke a 7-all tie on Connor Schibeci’s RBI-single in the top of the fourth.
They extended their lead on a two-run double by Lachlan Davis before adding four runs in the fifth.
Both teams traded late runs but the Mariners were unable to close the gap with Nikau Pouaka-Grego on the mound for Twins.
Pouaka-Grego struck out eight
Earlier, Schibeci struck out six in a solid start.
Genevieve Beacom led Southern’s offence with a couple of runs batted in.

Connor Chehab’s three-run homer in the top of the seventh lifted Central Firebirds to a 16-8 win in their #AJLC2018 consolation game against Canberra.
Chehab broke an 8-8 tie after the Firebirds drew level on Patrick Temby’s RBI-double in the sixth.
The Firebirds ended up adding eight runs, putting the contest out of Canberra’s reach.
Chehab and Blake Dunsire both finished with four runs batted in.
Brayden Crombie struck out six in three relief innings.

Cronulla scored 12 runs in the second to overcome Far North Coast 19-4 in Consolation Game 4 at #AJLC2018.
After Far North Coast built an early 3-0 lead, Cronulla’s offence batted around to take the lead in the second and never looked back.
Jake Quinlivan drove in four of the 12 runs – on a triple and flyout – and Bradley Griffin batted in two each during the monster inning.
Quinlivan added a fifth RBI in the third and took his tally to six with a second triple in the bottom of the fourth to end the contest under the mercy rule.
Cronulla scored 12 runs in the second to overcome Far North Coast 19-4 in Consolation Game 4 at #AJLC2018.
After Far North Coast built an early 3-0 lead, Cronulla’s offence batted around to take the lead in the second and never looked back.

Ryde Hawks picked up their first win of #AJLC2018, topping Brisbane North 15-5 in Consolation Game 1 on Diamond 2.
The Hawks rode a strong start by Joshua Lander and steady flow of runs to victory.
Ryde scored three in the first, second and fourth before piling on six in the sixth.
Kobi Slaats led the offence with five hits.
Lander worked five solid innings, allowing just three earned runs.
For Brisbane North, Joel Hogan homered.
