Our three Victorian teams Eastern Athletics, Southern Mariners and Twins enjoyed Day 4 of the 2019 Australian Little League Championships.

Semi-final 1: Cronulla 8, Hills Red 4 | Box Score
Zac Curtis homered as Cronulla topped Hills Red 8-4 to punch its ticket to the #ALLC2019 gold medal game.
Curtis put Cronulla up three runs with a two-run shot in the fourth before they added three insurance runs in the top of the sixth.
Hills Red added two runs late to trim the lead but could not stop Cronulla advancing to tomorrow’s championship game.
Curtis impressed on the mound too, striking out five batters.
Lachlan Vella, Blake Cleary and Matthew Trainor also drove in runs for Cronulla.
Rory Cain, Kalin Murray and Chase Taylor produced runs for Hills.
Semi-final 2: Ryde Red 6, Eastern Phantoms 2 | Box Score
Ryde Red took extra innings to prevail 6-2 over Eastern Phantoms and earn a spot in the #ALLC2019 gold medal game.
Simon Slapeta’s two-run triple broke a 2-all tie and sparked a four-run seventh-inning.
Slapeta and Daniel Thwaites drove in two runs each for Ryde.
Starting pitcher Joshua Nati collected eight strikeouts.
Ryde took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.
But the Phantoms scored in the bottom of the third and fifth to force extra innings.
Eastern’s Ben Nesbit finished with eight strikeouts in a strong outing on the mound.
Adelaide Marlins 3, Adelaide Rays 0 | Box Score
Connor Yeatman’s 10 strikeouts propelled Adelaide Marlins to a 3-0 win over Adelaide Rays on diamond four.
Yeatman starred and Aiden Lucas drove in two runs and Will Couzner another to lift the Marlins into the 13th-place playoff tomorrow.
Rays’ starter Hamish Batchelor finished with nine strikeouts in a pitching duel against Yeatman.
Twins 5, Central Firebirds 2 | Box Score
Twins jumped out to and early lead on their way to a 5-2 win over Central Firebirds on diamond three.
William Hardy struck out seven and drove in a run while Nathan Rumbelow and Timothy Thiel also collected RBIs.
Twins scored three in the first and added a run in the second and sixth.
Keelan Murray drove in the Firebirds’ runs.
Manly 9, Far North Coast 5 | Box Score
A six-run fourth inning lifted Manly into a fifth-place playoff at #ALLC2019.
Manly overturned a 3-2 deficit with a big inning to secure a 9-5 victory over Far North Coast.
Aiden Patterson homered and James Greer drove in a pair of runs.
Greer also struck out eight on the mound.
Tully Magnay struck out eight for Far North Coast.
Canberra 7, Brisbane North 6 | Box Score
Canberra collected its first win of #ALLC2019, holding off fast-finishing Brisbane North 7-6.
Canberra took an early 4-1 lead before the teams traded three-run innings in the third.
North added two runs in the top of the sixth to fall just short.
Regan Smith recorded five strikeouts for Canberra
Southern Mariners 7, Eastern Athletics 1 | Box Score
Southern Mariners will square off with Twins for ninth spot at #ALLC2019 after toppling Eastern Athletics 7-1.
An even team batting performance propelled Mariners into another all-Victorian battle.
Five players drove in a run and Liam Bald struck out seven.
Gold Coast 13, Northern Metros 10 | Box Score
Gold Coast set up a fifth-place playoff with Manly after overcoming Northern Metros 13-10 in a high-scoring contest.
The Cougars raced to an 11-4 lead after three innings and denied a Metros’ comeback.
Nishiki Iwai and Jake Scott drove in four runs for Gold Coast.
Both homered, along with Logan Blackman.
Northern’s Chloe Atkinson had three runs batted in.
Final day action starts from 8.30am (local time) with the bronze medal game starting at 9am.
The championship game is slated to start at 1pm.
