Eastern Athletics, Southern Mariners and Twins continued their campaigns on day 2 of the 2019 Australian Little League Championships on Friday.

Eastern Phantoms 12, Eastern Athletics 7 | Box Score

Eastern Phantoms improved to 2-0 following a 12-7 win over Eastern Athletics on diamond four.

Riley Oliphant drove in three runs on three hits and Benjamin Nesbit recorded five strikeouts for the Phantoms.

Eastern Phantoms led 7-3 after two innings and piled on four runs to increase their advantage in the fifth.

The Athletics added four late runs as they chased a first win.

Jack Noble drove in three runs for Eastern Athletics.

 

Twins 16, Canberra 6 | Box Score

Twins scored 13 runs in the bottom of the fifth to seal a comeback win over Canberra on diamond one.

The big inning helped Twins record a 16-6 win - their first of the tournament – in the Pool C clash.

Hudson Pallay, Timothy Thiel and Lachlan Schumann drove in three runs each for Twins.

Pallay recorded five strikeouts on the mound.

 

Gold Coast Cougars 14, Southern Mariners 10 | Box Score

Gold Coast Cougars topped Southern Mariners 14-10 to complete a sweep of their day two doubleheader at #ALLC2019.

The Cougars scored eight runs in the top of the fifth to overturn an early deficit.

Riku Mochizuki drove in three runs for Gold Coast and Jake Scott struck out eight.

 

Eastern Athletics 9, Adelaide Rays 5 | Box Score

Charles Chislett collected four hits as Eastern Athletics recorded their first win of #ALLC2019.

A four-run top of the sixth split the two teams as the Athletics prevailed 9-5.

Chislett and Samuel Walk drove in two runs.

 

Southern Mariners 16, Hills Red 14 | Box Score

Southern Mariners topped Hills Red 16-14 in a wild contest to round out day two.

The Mariners raced to a 14-7 lead after three innings and held Hills at bay.

A four-run fifth pulled Hills Red within a run before Southern added a late insurance run.

Liam Bald and Taine Graham drove in two runs for the Mariners.
