Seventy-five promising young players have been working out at the Major League Baseball Australia Academy since 1 August, for a spot in the U18 World Cup team that will compete in the 2015 WBSC U18 World Cup from 28 August to 6 September in Osaka, Japan.
Australia’s final team selection will be announced by Baseball Australia at the conclusion of the Academy, but coaching staff have been set.
Two-time Australian Baseball League championship-winning Manager and 2015 High Performance Coach of the Year, Steve Fish, will step into the National Team coaching role as Manager for the U18 side. MLB alumni Glenn Williams and Graeme Lloyd, as well as Victorian Damian Shanahan will support the WA manager.

In preparation for the U18 World Cup, Australia will play Canada in an 8-game series sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation, on the Gold Coast, Australia.
