Our 2024 Little League State Champions have been crowned!
Congratulations to Athletics (Little League Major and Intermediate League) and Twins (Little League Development) on their championships!
Well done to all the awesome young baseballers who enjoyed a great weekend of baseball at Knox, and thank you to all the volunteers who made the tournament possible.

Little League Major
Mariners 7, Twins 2
Mariners outlasted Twins 7-2 on Sunday after scoring in the second on a bases-loaded walk by Beau R. They added three more runs in the top of the third with Quinn M's home run.
Dean R stepped on the mound first for Mariners, giving up five hits and one run over four innings with four strikeouts and three walks.
Lucas E led things off on the bump for Twins, giving up one hit and two runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Leo W appeared in relief for Mariners.
Mariners tallied 10 hits in the game. Quinn provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Mariners with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day while Brodie H collected three hits. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Brodie L, Mason C, and Ayrton L each collected two hits for Twins.
Little League Development
Athletics 11, Mets 1
Athletics scored six runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Mets 11-1 on Sunday. Dylan A drew a walk, scoring one run, Tobias H singled, scoring two runs, Oscar A drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jackson C was struck by a pitch, bringing home another runner. Michael J grounded out to score the final run of the inning.
Athletics added five runs on two hits in the top of the second. Charlie A drew a walk, scoring one run, Elliot L singled, scoring one run, and two wild pitches scored two more runs.
Dylan led things off on the hill for Athletics, giving up six hits and one run over three innings with three strikeouts and one walk. Nixon D tossed one inning of zero-run ball in relief with one hit, two strikeouts, and zero walks.
Elliot went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Athletics in hits. Tobias and Michael drove in one run as Alex P led the team with two walks. They took nine walks total while Nixon, Elliot, and Alex each stole multiple bases with nine total in the game.
Harper W went 1-for-1 at the plate, leading Mets with one run batted in. Heath D, Jax M, Kristian M, Harper, Tate S, Mika, and Nate M each collected one hit.
Mets were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hunter J had the most fielding chances with three.
Twins 6, Rangers 4
Twins prevailed 6-4 despite an early effort from Rangers, scoring in the bottom of the first after Nathaniel K walked and Aiden J grounded out, each scoring one run.
Twins took the lead in the top of the second when Billy H doubled, scoring two runs, and Jackson M singled, scoring one run.
Aiden singled to help Rangers tie it up at three in the bottom of the fourth.
Twins retook the lead in the top of the eighth inning after Jackson singled, Ali M grounded out, and Augustus H doubled, each scoring one run.
Tate S pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Rangers, giving up five hits and two runs with four strikeouts and three walks.
Aiden stepped on the hill first for Rangers, giving up six hits and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out six and walking two.
Jaxon W stepped on the hill first for Twins. He gave up three hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking three.
Aiden drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rangers with three runs batted in on a 2-for-3 day. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Twins collected 11 hits with Billy batting in two runs from the number seven spot. Drayden J, Jakson, and Myles M each collected two hits for Twins with one double play on defense. Joshua J had the most chances in the field with 12 in an error-free game.
Intermediate League
Mets 10, Mariners 5
Mets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Flynn S doubled and Kohen V grounded out, each scoring one run.
Mariners tied it up in the top of the second thanks to a groundout by Ezekiel S and a fielder's choice by Renny T. They scored again in the third as Cooper S grounded out, scoring one run to make it a 3-2 ballgame.
Mets made it a tied ballgame yet again in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a double by Christian P and a sacrifice bunt by Levi E.
Mets flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 10-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.
Sage W started on the ground for Mariners with five strikeouts and two walks over five and two-thirds innings.
Kohen stepped on the bump first for Mets, giving up five hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three.
Toby B went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Mariners in hits. Renny, Ryder N, Cooper, Liam J, and Ezekiel each drove in one run while Ryder stole two bases.
Mets piled up 10 hits in the game with two apiece for Christian, Max T, and Huga T. Christian and Flynn each drove in two runs while the defense was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Flynn S made the most plays with seven.
Athletics 15, Mets 0
Finn W collected three hits in three at-bats with singles in the first, second, and third innings for Athletics.
Athletics got on the board early after Oliver A singled, Cooper S singled, Joel R doubled, and Peter B singled, each scoring one run.
Athletics added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Alexander F, Finn, and Jacob T singled. Oliver doubled and Athletics scored once more on a wild pitch.
Athletics scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Reiley M singled, scoring one run, Levi E induced Ethan C to hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored, and Finn hit a 2-RBI single. Jacob followed up with a 2-RBI base hit.
Oliver started the game for Athletics, allowing three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking two.
Levi led things off on the mound for Mets, striking out three in two and two-thirds innings.
Athletics tallied 14 hits in the game. Oliver and Cooper each collected multiple hits and stole multiple bases, with Athletics stealing eight bases throughout the game. Athletics didn't commit a single error in the field as Reiley had the most chances with nine.
Christian P, Levi, and Huga T each collected one hit for Mets. Flynn S stole three bases.

The 2024 Little League State Championships continued at Knox with an action-packed Saturday across Little League Major, Little League Development, Little League Minor, and Intermediate League.
The tournament runs through Sunday 7 April before Junior League and Senior League next weekend in Geelong.

Little League Major
Athletics 13, Mariners 3
Haydn D drove in five runs on three hits to lead Athletics past Mariners. This included an RBI single in the second and 2-RBI base hits in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Athletics scored seven runs in the fourth inning on Haydn's single, Leo M's 2-RBI double, Cooper G's RBI base hit, and Benjamin B's 2-RBI double.
Athletics first got on the board in the top of the second after Haydn singled, Joshua M singled, and Cooper grounded out, each scoring one run. They added one in the third after Jackson B grounded out.
Mariners scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth when Quinn M homered to left field.
Tony H started on the bump for Athletics, giving up nine hits and three runs over five innings with eight strikeouts and zero walks.
Joshua, Evangelynn L, Phillip T, and Benjamin each collected multiple hits for Athletics as the team had 17 total. Tony stole two bases while the defense did a solid job with no errors. Jackson made the most plays with nine.
Quinn provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Mariners with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 in the game while leadoff hitter Mia W led Mariners with two hits in two at-bats. Meanwhile, the defense recorded one double play.
Athletics 8, Rangers 1
Athletics defeated Rangers 8-1 thanks in part to six runs in the third inning. Benjamin B singled, scoring one run, Tony H grounded out, scoring one run, Jackson B doubled, scoring one run, and Charlie F doubled to bring home two. Haydn D singled to score the final run of the frame.
Rangers got on board in the first inning after Lee M singled, scoring one run.
Cooper G started the game for Athletics, allowing seven hits and one run over four innings with two strikeouts and two walks. Joshua M and Jack D pitched in relief and shutdown Rangers.
Rangers starter Baylen V struck out two in four innings.
Athletics collected 13 hits in the game as Charlie drove the middle of the lineup with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Evangelynn L, Haydn, and Jack each collected two hits.
The winning defense turned one double play and was sure-handed in the field with no errors. Evangelynn made the most plays with seven.
Finn W and Nolan J each collected two hits for Rangers. Lee went 1-for-1 at the plate as the infielder led the team with one run batted in. Rangers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error as Callum D made the most plays.
Twins 20, Mets 2
Twins won big over Mets, starting early in the first after Kieran H singled, scoring one run, and Brodie L singled, scoring two runs. Lucas E drew a walk, scoring one run, Lucy G induced Taylor L to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Tyler T singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one more run.
Twins added one run in the second as Luis F singled on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, making the score 9-0. Lucas singled on a full count to make it 10-0 in the third.
Twins scored 10 runs on six hits in the fifth. Kieran doubled and Thomas M singled, both scoring two runs, then an error scored two more. Tyler, Ayrton, and Kieran drew walks to score a few more runs.
Thomas pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Twins, giving up three its and two runs with four strikeouts and four walks. Lucas stepped on the bump first, giving up zero hits and zero runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking two.
Twins tallied 14 hits in the game with two apiece for Brodie, Isaac D, Mason C, and Kieran. Lucas and Kieran each drove in three runs while the team totaled nine walks, including two apiece for Tyler and Kieran. Brodie had two of the team's six stolen bases.
Lucy, Shreyas K, and Hayden H each collected one hit for Mets. Shreyas and Kazushi each drove in one run while Noah S paced the team with two out of six walks.
Rangers 15, Mets 9
Axl D drove in four runs on three hits to lead Rangers past Mets 15-9. Axl tripled in the third, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fourth, scoring two more.
Rangers came back to win despite trailing 6-0 in the second. Mets scored in the first after Hayden H grounded out, scoring one run, Louie S doubled, scoring one run, and Spencer T singled, scoring two runs.
Mets added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Bailey M singled and Owen D walked, each scoring one run.
Rangers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on seven hits to take a 9-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Axl that drove in two.
Rangers scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Cooper E induced Quin M to hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored. Finn W singled, scoring one run, Axl doubled, scoring two runs, and Cooper B singled, scoring one run.
Jordan D stepped on the mound first for Rangers, giving up six hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking six. Axl appeared in relief.
Cooper stepped on the hill first for Mets, striking out five and walking three over three and one-third innings.
Rangers tallied 19 hits in the game. Cooper, Jordan, and Axl each collected three hits while Quin, Finn, Nolan J, and Erk A had two hits each.
Rangers turned one double play in the game and didn't commit a single error in the field. Nolan had the most fielding chances with eight.
Leadoff hitter Owen led Mets with two hits in two at-bats. Spencer and Hayden each drove in two runs. while the team collected 11 walks, with two bases on balls for Spencer, Shreyas K, Jasper H, and Kazushi A. Mets turned one double play, too.
Twins 11, Mariners 4
Twins scored seven runs in the second inning, helping them defeat Mariners 11-4 on Saturday. Tommy K doubled, scoring one run, Ayrton L singled, scoring one run, and Nathan M grounded out to score another. Thomas M and Brodie L picked up RBIs with a single and double, respectively before Lucas E doubled, scoring two runs.
Twins got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after an error scored two runs and Isaac D singled to bring home another.
Tyler T started the game for Twins, giving up four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four and walking five. Ayrton pitched one and one-third innings of scoreless ball in relief, striking out one and walking none.
Mia W pitched first for Mariners, picking up one strikeout in one and two-thirds innings.
Twins tallied 12 hits in the game as Brodie led the way going 3-for-3. Lucas and Ayrton both drove in two runs.
Samuel W, Dallas H, Brodie H, and Gene B each drove in one run for Mariners. Gene led the team with two hits in two at-bats.
Little League Development
Twins 11, Athletics 1
Myles M collected three hits in three at-bats as Twins picked up a big win. Myles singled in the first and fifth innings and doubled in the third.
Athletics were first on the board when Alex P doubled to score a run in the second. Twins quickly responded as Drayden J grounded out and Jackson M walked, each scoring one run in the bottom frame.
Twins added to their early lead in the bottom of the third when Myles doubled, scoring two runs, and a steal of home ensured another.
Billy H led things off on the mound for Twins, giving up five hits and one run over four innings with eight strikeouts and two walks. Myles threw one inning of scoreless ball in relief with two hits, two strikeouts, and a walk.
Audrey C struck out two in two and two-thirds innings of work for Athletics.
Twins tallied 12 hits and 11 walks in the game as Joshua J went 2-for-3. Billy, Jaxon W, and Angus Led ted the side with two walks each.
Billy, Oliver C, Jaxon, Augustus H, Myles, and David R stole multiple bases, too. Twins had 16 SB total plus an error-free game on defense with a team-high six fielding changes for Isaac L.
Alex batted in Athletics' lone run of the game while Audrey went 2-for-2 to lead the side in hits. They didn't make any fielding errors as Jackson C had the most plays with five.
Athletics 12, Belles 9
Despite trailing by as many as seven runs, Athletics rallied to top Belles 12-9 on Saturday. Belles took the lead at the top of the first inning after a wild pitch scored two runs, Quorra I drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored another.
Walks by Saskia C and Imogene P and a double by Taylor E helped Belles extend their early lead in the second.
Athletics flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring eight runs on five hits. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Jackson C that drove in two.
Charlie W pitched three innings in relief for Athletics, giving up one hit and one run while striking out six and walking six. Charlie A started the game, giving up one hit and four runs (three earned) with two strikeouts.
Molly R stepped on the hill first for Belles. She gave up five hits in three innings with five strikeouts.
Charlie and Jackson were a force together in the lineup, each collecting two hits for Athletics. Jackson had two runs batted in on a 2-for-2 day.
Athletics had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Oscar A and Michael J led the team with two walks each. Charlie, Nixon D, and Michael each stole multiple bases with 12 total in the game.
Molly and Taylor were a force together in the lineup as they each collected one hit for Belles. Taylor went 1-for-1 as the infielder led Belles with two runs batted in. They collected 15 walks with two free passes each for Katherine D, Imogene, Saskia, and Pia A.
Katherine stole two bases while Belles defense turned a double play, too.
Rangers 16, Belles 3
Rangers jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first after Felix F was struck by a pitch and Jayden S drew a walk. Aiden J's triple added more runs in the second, followed by an RBI single for Jake R in the third.
Rangers added six runs in the top of the fourth as Carter M singled before a few bases-loaded walks.
Felix opened the game for Rangers, giving up three hits and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out six and walking none. Oscar appeared in relief.
Oscar and Carter each collected two hits with an RBI each. Jake, Tate S, and AIden also drove in runs while Oliver paced the team with two walks out of ten total. Jayden stole two bases.
Rangers didn't commit a single error in the field as Aiden had the most chances with eight.
Taylor E led Belles with two hits in two at-bats. Georgia L and Isla T each drove in one run. Belles didn't make any defensive errors as Louise N had the most plays with four.
Rangers 17, Mets 10
There were runs aplenty on Saturday at Diamond 4 as Rangers prevailed 17-10 over Mets. Rangers had six hits and Mets had four. Mets opened the scoring in the first after Ben S grounded out, scoring two runs.
Rangers captured a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first after Nathaniel K grounded out, Hudson R doubled, and Tate S singled, each scoring one run.
Mets jumped into the lead in the top of the second when Harper W grounded out, scoring one run, Logan P doubled, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one more.

Hunter W, Logan, Harper, and Tate S had one hit apiece for Mets, with two RBIs for Logan and Harper. Mets practiced patience at the plate, tallying nine walks with two apiece for Leo N and Mika S.
Nate had two of Mets seven stolen bases while the defense was sure-handed in the field and didn't make any errors. Hunter J had the most fielding chances with three.
Twins 16, Mariners 0
Twins got on board in the top of the first after Jaxon W doubled, Myles M singled, and Billy H doubled, each scoring one run.
Twins added to their early lead in the top of the second after Angus L walked, Joshua J singled, and Jaxon singled, each scoring one run. Two more runs scored in the third after Jakson M lined out.
Another six runs came through in the top of the fourth. Oliver C and Jaxon drew bases-loaded walks, plus Myles hit a 3-RBI single and Isaac L grounded out to score one more.
Joshua led things off on the bump for Twins, allowing two hits over four scoreless innings with three strikeouts and no walks.

Bats were blistered as Mets prevailed 13-12 over Mariners, collecting 15 hits and giving up seven. Mets came back to win despite trailing 11-5 in the fourth.
Mariners got on the board in the top of the first inning after Alexander T walked, Edward S singled, and Jordan A singled, each scoring one run.
Mets tied it up in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Tate S, a single by Heath D, and a dropped third strike.
Mariners retook the lead in the top of the second, making it 4-3 with a steal of home.
Mets made it 5-4 their next turn up due to a passed ball and Leo N's steal of home.
Mariners quickly responded in the top of the third after Elliot A walked, Jordan Walked, and Max M stole home, each scoring a run.
Tate singled to score three runs in the bottom of the fifth, which included three hits and five total runs for Mets.

Athletics 12, Mariners 7
Athletics won 12-7 although Mariners scored first with an RBI single by Sage W in the opening frame. Athletics tied it up in the bottom half on a double by Jacob T and a wild pitch.

Mariners responded with five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth. Toby B singled, scoring one run, an error scored two more, a wild pitch scored one run, and Ryder N grounded out, scoring one.
Finn W stepped on the mound first for Athletics. He allowed seven hits and seven runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking four. Jacob tossed three innings of zero-run ball in relief, allowing one hit with a walk and four strikeouts.
Ryder started for Mariners and covered three innings with two strikeouts and a walk.
Athletics totaled 14 hits as Edison went 3-for-3 in the number seven spot. Finn and Heath each drove in two runs while Cooper S went 2-for-3. Finn, Ethan C, Maximilian L, and Cooper each stole multiple bases with 12 total for the team.
Athletics defense turned one double play in the game.
Ezekiel S and Toby were a one-two punch in the lineup, each driving in two runs for Mariners. Toby led the team going 3-for-3 while Bodhi E and Sage had multiple hits, too.
Mets 8, Twins 1
Mets scored five runs in the seventh inning to defeat Twins 8-1. Archie R and Max T singled to score one run each before Christian P had a 2-RBI base hit and a steal of home scored one more.
A single by Mateo G on the seventh pitch of the at-bat put Twins on the board in the bottom of the first. An error helped Mets tie it up at one in the top of the third before a passed ball made it 2-1 in the top of the fourth.
Christian started the game for Mets, giving up one hit and one run over six innings with five strikeouts and six walks.
Beckett S started the game for Twins, allowing four hits and three runs (zero earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 12 and walking three.
Flynn S threw one inning of scoreless ball in relief, giving up one hit with three strikeouts and no walks.

It was a close one for Rangers although ultimately Mets prevailed, with Flynn S going 3-for-3. Flynn tripled in the second, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the sixth.
Mets collected 15 hits and Rangers had 14 in the high-scoring game. Mets scored in the first after Flynn S doubled, Kohen V singled, Lucas K grounded out, and Max T grounded out, each scoring one run.
Mets scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. Levi E singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Flynn tripled, scoring two runs, and Flynn grounded out, scoring another.

Rangers scored seven runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth. Zachary L doubled, scoring two runs, Airlie J singled, scoring two runs, Hugh H singled, scoring two, and Ewan C singled, scoring one.
Huga opened the game for Mets, giving up two hits and six runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking eight. Archie R and Ezrah R appeared in relief.
Hugh led things off on the hill fo Rangers, striking out two in three and one-third innings.
Mets collected 15 hits in the game with three each for Flynn and Levi. Kohen went 2-for-4 and Archie had two of the team's six walks. Flynn, Christian P, Archie, Teal L, Kohen, Levi, and Ezrah each stole multiple bases.
Rangers tallied 14 hits in the game with two each for Lachlan J, Zachary, Tyler V, Hugh, and Fabian M. Ewan, Zachary, Oliver C, Tyler, and Hugh drove in two runs apiece.
Rangers collected 13 walks with two bases on balls for Oliver, Tyler, Hugh, and Logan C. Michael R, Oliver, Hugh, Fabian, and Mark N each stole multiple bases.
Athletics 19, Rangers 2
Reiley M drove in four runs on three hits to lead Athletics past Rangers. Reiley singled in the first, second, and third innings, scoring five runs.
Athletics scored in the bottom of the first after Oliver grounded out, Joel doubled, Edison B doubled, and Reiley singled, all knocking in runs.
Athletics scored 11 runs in the second inning starting with an error and Finn W's bases-loaded walk. Jacob T hit an RBI single, Oliver A brought home two with a base hit, and Joel R singled to score another. Reiley's 2-RBI base hit and RBI singles by Heath K and Ethan C added to the tally as the inning finished with a hit by pitch.
The run scoring continued in the third when Edison drew a walk, scoring one run, and Reiley singled, scoring two runs.
Alexander F started the game for Athletics, giving up four hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking two.
Athletics tallied 18 hits in the game with three apiece for Reiley and Peter B. Ethan, Heath, Joel, Cooper S, and Jacob all had multiple hits. Ethan, Cooper, and Jacob each stole multiple bases with eight total in the game. The team took six walks and turned one double play.
Oscar H and Michael R each drove in one run for Rangers. Hugh went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Rangers in hits.
Mariners 8, Twins 6
Mariners won 8-6 over Twins in a close contest. Twins scored first on a single by Joshua R, although Mariners quickly responded in the top of the second inning with big base hits from Alex W and Ryder N.
Twins made it 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth after Joshua doubled, scoring two runs, Beckett S drew a walk, scoring one run, and Christopher M singled, scoring one run.
A single by Liam J gave Mariners a 6-5 lead in the top of the fifth. Joshua's single for Twins tied the game up at six in the bottom of the fifth.
Mariners broke through the tie in the top of the seventh when Ezekiel S singled, scoring one run. Alex singled to extend the lead to 8-6.
Bodhi E pitched first for Mariners, allowing five hits and five runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking three. Alex pitched in relief.
William M led things off on the mound for Twins, allowing three hits and six runs (five earned) over four and one-third innings with eight strikeouts and seven walks.
As the number seven hitter for Mariners, Alex showed the depth of the lineup with two hits in two at-bats, plus two RBI alongside Liam.
Mariners had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks with two apiece for Toby B and Shun T. Ezekiel, Alex, Toby, and Shun each stole multiple bases with 15 total in the game.
Mariners were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Thomas S made the most plays with six.
Joshua provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Twins with four runs batted in as the first baseman went 3-for-3. Christopher collected two hits in three at-bats and Jacob L led the side with two out of six walks and stolen bases.

The 2024 Little League State Championships got underway at Knox on Friday, with Little League Major, Little League Development, and Intermediate League kicking things off.
The tournament runs through Sunday 7 April before Junior League and Senior League next weekend in Geelong.

Little League Major
Mariners 14, Rangers 8
Mariners scored 10 runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Rangers 14-8 on Friday.
In the big inning, Leo W doubled, scoring two runs, Quinn M drew a walk, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored another. Brodie H hit an RBI single, a wild pitch scored two runs, and Dean R followed up with an RBI base hit. Griffin L drew a walk, scoring a run, and Spencer E grounded out to score the final run of the inning.
Rangers opened the scoring in the first after Cooper B singled to bring home a run. A base hit by Baylen V extended the Rangers lead to 2-0 in the top of the third before Mariners battled back.
Dean started the game for Mariners, allowing two hits and two runs (zero earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.
Cooper started for Rangers, giving up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking none. Quinn, Gene B, Mia W, and Samuel W each appeared in relief.
Dean, Griffin, Flynn R, Brodie, Gene, Leo, and Samuel each collected one hit for Mariners. Leo and Spencer had two RBIs each while Dallas H had two of the team's six stolen bases. Mariners turned one double play in the game.
Cooper and Finn W each collected two hits and a pair of RBIs for Rangers.
Mariners 6, Mets 2
Mariners were victorious against Mets Major 6-2 on Friday. The winning side opened scoring in the top of the fourth thanks to two ground outs. Quinn M grounded out to score two runs to kickstart the offense.
Leo W led things off on the hill for Mariners. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three.
Louie S started the game for Mets, giving up one hit and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.
Spencer E pitched one and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for Mariners in relief, giving up two hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Flynn R led Mariners with two hits in two at-bats. Griffin L, Quinn, and Samuel W each drove in one run as the defense turned one double play.
Number seven hitter Ry V showed the depth of Mets lineup, leading them with a 2-for-2 game. Mets had a strong eye at the plate, totaling seven walks in the game including two apiece for Bailey M and Owen D.
Athletics 21, Twins 3
Jackson B collected four hits in four at-bats as Athletics defeated Twins 21-3 on Friday. Jackson had base hits in the first, second and fifth innings.
Athletics first scored in the opening frame after Jackson singled and there was a passed ball. Phillip T walked, Joshua M singled, and Hao (Tony) H grounded out, each scoring a run.
They extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Phillip and Leo.
Athletics scored 12 runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Charlie F doubled, scoring one run and Evangelynn L doubled, scoring another before an error added to the score. Leo M took a bases-loaded walk, Oliver F grounded out to score a run, and Cooper G hit a 2-RBI single. Benjamin B had an RBI double while Jack D, Jackson, Evangelynn, and Haydn D all hit RBI singles.
Haydn pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Athletics, giving up four hits and one run while striking out five and walking one.
Charlie led things off on the mound for Athletics, giving up three hits and two runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
Athletics totaled 18 hits in the game, with multiple hits for Benjamin, Evangelynn, Haydn, and Jack. Charlie took two of the team's seven walks for the game while Phillip stole two bases.
The defense didn't commit a single error in the field as Jackson had the most chances with three.
Kieran, Isaac D, Brodie L, Lucas E, Mason C, Luis F, and Nathan M each collected one hit for Twins. Kieran, Lucas, and Nathan each drove in one run as Twins stole six bases in the game.
Twins 18, Rangers 3
Kieran H collected three hits in three at-bats as Twins defeated Rangers 18-3. Kieran singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the second.
Twins won thanks in part to 12 runs in the first inning. Brodie L doubled, scoring one run, Thomas M singled, scoring two runs, and Luis F singled, scoring one. An error also scored a run before Isaac D hit an RBI single, Jackson F smashed a 2-RBI double, and Tyler T singled to bring in a run. Ayrton L doubled, scoring two runs, and Mason C singled, scoring one more.
A groundout by Lucas E and a single by Jackson helped Twins extend their early lead in the second. An error and another single by Kieran saw the Twins take a bigger lead in the third.

Athletics 19, Mets 0
Athletics scored 14 runs in the third inning on their way to a big win. Jackson B doubled, scoring one run before a fielder's choice scored another. Haydn D hit a 2-RBI double, Joshua M and Tony H drew bases-loaded walks, and Cooper G scored two on a base hit. Oliver F scored after tagging up, Jackson doubled to score another, and Charlie F brought home two with a big single. A final fielder's choice scored two more runs in the frame.
The scoring originally started in the top of the second after Haydn singled, scoring one run, Leo M doubled, scoring one run, and Tony singled to score two more. Cooper grounded out to score the last run of the inning.

Twins won big over Mets 13-3 after jumping out to an early lead in the bottom of the first. Myles M and David R drew bases-loaded walks, plus a fielder's choice and Drayden J's singled scored a few more.
Twins scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning. Augustus H grounded out, scoring one run, Angus L doubled, scoring another, and Jaxon W brought home a runner on his single. Oliver C tripled, scoring two runs, and Myles doubled, scoring one more.
Twins added one run in the third as Isaac L grounded out to make it 13-1.
Billy led things off on the bump for Twins, giving up zero hits in a scoreless inning with two strikeouts and two walks. Myles tossed one inning of no-run ball in relief with no hits or walks and two strikeouts.
Twins tallied 10 hits in the game. Oliver drove the middle of the lineup, leading the side with two runs batted in on a 2-for-2 day. Oliver, Jaxon, Isaac, Myles, and David each stole multiple bases as the team totaled 17 SBs.
Twins were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Joshua J had the most chances with seven.
Hunter W, Logan P, Tate, and Mika S each collected one hit for Mets. Logan and Tate drove in one run apiece
Mariners 13, Belles 3
Jonothan P collected three hits in three at-bats as Mariners picked up a 13-3 win. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.
Mariners opened scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles, starting with an RBI base hit from Edward S. They added to their early lead in the bottom of the third when Jonothan singled, scoring two runs, Leon K doubled, scoring one run, and Alexander T doubled, scoring one more.
Mariners scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kino O grounded out, scoring one run, Elliot A singled, scoring two runs, Leon doubled, scoring two runs, and Max M singled, scoring one run.
Leon started on the bump for Mariners, giving up one hit and one run over one and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two. Jordan A appeared in relief.
Taylor E pitched for Belles and struck out three in one and one-third innings.
Mariners tallied 16 hits as Leon provided pop in the middle of the lineup with three runs batted in on a 2-for-3 day. Alexander and Jonothan had three hits apiece while Elliot and Edward had two. Edward and Jonothan each stole multiple bases as the team had nine SBs total.

Molly R set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Belles with two hits in two at-bats. Isla T and Taylor each drove in one run as Georgia L led the team with two out of ten walks. Belles didn't make any errors as Quorra had the most chances in the field with six.
Rangers 23, Athletics 2
Rangers came away with a big victory after scoring 13 runs in the fifth inning.
Tate S kicked things off with a bases-loaded walk, followed by run-scoring at-bats by Carter M, Oliver H, Felix F, Sebastian B, Jayden S, Patrik L, Jake R, and Nathaniel K. Hudson R singled to score another run as Dominic walked with bases loaded. Tate and Carter also had productive at-bats to take another base on balls.
A passed ball and bases-loaded walk by Thomas W got things started for Athletics in the first. Rangers soon responded, making it 5-2 in the top of the third after Jake singled, scoring one run, and Aiden J tripled, scoring three runs.
Rangers scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Tate, Felix, Sebastian, and Jake drew walks to bring home runners.
Tate opened the game for Rangers, giving up two hits and two runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.
Thomas started on the bump for Athletics. He allowed two hits and one run over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two.
Patrick tossed two and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for Rangers in relief. He allowed three hits with three strikeouts and no walks.
Aiden provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Rangers with three runs batted in on a 2-for-3 day. Hudson, Carter, and Aiden each collected two hits. Dominic and Tate took four walks each while Felix and Oscar M stole multiple bases as Rangers had nine SBs total.
Neither team made any errors as Felix had a team-high six chances for Rangers, and Audrey from Athletics had nine chances in the field.
Audrey C, Elliot L, Nixon D, Tobias H, and Michael J had one hit apiece for Athletics.
Rangers 8, Twins 7
Rangers took Friday's game in dramatic fashion with an 8-7 walk-off victory over Twins. It was tied at seven in the bottom of the fifth when Tate S drew a walk, scoring one run.
Rangers built a 4-run lead in the second inning and then held off Twins' charge as they closed the gap by scoring on a groundout and a double.
Twins got on the board in the top of the first inning after Myles M singled and Isaac L walked, each scoring one run.
Rangers captured a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first on RBI singles by Hudson R, Carter M, and Oscar M.
Augustus H singled to help Twins tie it at three apiece in the top of the second. By the end of the inning, Rangers led 7-3 after Aiden J singled and Jake R grounded out, each scoring two runs.
The back-and-forth battle continued as Twins tied it once more in the top of the third on a groundout by Myles and a double by Isaac.
Aiden pitched three innings in relief for Rangers, striking out two. Carter was the starting pitcher, with three runs and three strikeouts in one and one-third innings.
Rangers tallied 12 hits in the game including two apiece for Oscar, Dominic S, and Aiden. Hudson, Carter, Jake, Tate, and Aiden each drove in one run while the team totaled eight walks, with two each for Sebastian B and Tate. Sebastian and Jayden S stole multiple bases with eight total for the team.

Twins piled up 17 hits in the game, with three apiece for Jaxon W, Oliver, and Joshua J. Myles and Isaac drove in one run as Augustus and Jackson M had multiple hits, too. Jaxon, Oliver, and David R all stole at least two bases with eight total in the game.
Twins had a clean fielding game with Joshua taking five chances, the most on the team.
Athletics 14, Mariners 4
Mariners were first on the board with a bases-loaded walk for Elliot A, but Athletics responded and went on to win 14-4.
Audrey C singled, Thomas W walked, Alex P walked, and Oscar A stole home, each scoring one run for Athletics in the bottom of the first. They added one run in the second on a wild pitch.
Mariners tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a hit by pitch, walk, and Edward S single.
At the end of the third, Athletics led 9-5 following a 2-RBI triple by Oscar, bases-loaded walk by Thomas, and RBI double by Jackson C.
Athletics started Dylan A allowed three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Michael J tossed one inning of no-run ball in relief, giving up one hit with one strikeout and no walks.
Edward covered two and one-third innings for Mariners, with one hit and two strikeouts.
Audrey, Nixon D, Dylan, Oscar, and Jackson each collected one hit for Athletics. Oscar and Jackson had 2 RBIs and Thomas led the team with three out of 14 total walks. Dylan, Thomas, and Michael all stole multiple bases with the team recording 11 SBs total.
Athletics were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Audrey made the most plays with nine.
Leadoff hitter Kino O led Mariners with three hits in three at-bats. Elliot, Edward, Max M, and Jordan each drove in one run for Mariners. Alexander T and Kino stole multiple bases as the team had seven total.
Intermediate League
Mariners 16, Rangers 0
Toby B collected three hits in three at-bats in a big win for Mariners. Toby had singles in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Mariners got on board in the top of the first after Sage W grounded out, scoring two runs, Toby singled, scoring one run, and Ethan C drew a walk to score another. Ryder N hit a 2-RBI single before a passed ball scored two more.
Mariners extended their early lead with five runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Toby, Ezekiel S, Alex W, and Ryder.
Sage stepped on the hill first for Mariners, allowing one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Ezekiel and Renny T pitched in relief.
Mariners collected 12 hits as Ryder went 2-for-3, leading the team with three runs batted in. Alex went 2-for-2 as the team practiced patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks including two apiece for Bodhi E and Charlie D. Toby had two of the team's seven stolen bases.
Mariners were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Bodhi had the most changes with seven.
Oscar H and Tyler V were a force together in the lineup, each collecting one hit for Rangers.
Athletics 12, Twins 2
Athletics started off strong and carried the momentum through to a 12-2 victory. They scored in the bottom of the second when Reiley M singled, scoring two runs.
Athletics added to their early lead in the bottom of the third when Cooper S tripled, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch stored one run.
Athletics scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Finn W tripled, scoring two, Jacob T drew a walk, scoring one, and Cooper tripled, bringing home two more.
Oliver A led things off on the bump for Athletics, giving up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking one. Finn and Ethan C appeared in relief.
Joshua R stepped on the mound first for Twins. He allowed four hits and two runs over one and two-third innings with a strikeout and no walks.

Rangers put together a huge second inning on their way to victory. Ewan C hit an RBI triple, Coadhey R drew a bases-loaded walk, and Lachlan J grounded out to score two runs. Mark N, Tyler V, and Airlie J drew walks to score additional runs, while Hugh H hit a 3-RBI single and Oscar H picked up an RBI base hit, too.
A double by Zachary L extended the Rangers Intermediate 13U lead to 14-0 in the bottom of the third.
Coadhey led things off on the bump for Rangers, allowing three hits and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none. Ewan appeared in relief.
Mateo G started the game for Twins. He gave up one hit and three runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.
Zachary led Rangers with three runs batted in on a 1-for-1 day. Oscar went 2-for-3 to lead Rangers in hits, while batters tallied 13 walks total. Airlie, Tyler, Coadhey, and Oliver C led the team with two bases on balls each. Airlie, Tyler, Hugh, Oliver, and Michael R stole multiple bases as well with 14 total for the team.
Rangers didn't commit a single error as Airlie made the most plays with four.
Logan H went 2-for-2 at the plate as the left fielder led Twins with one run batted in. Mateo stole two bases.

We wrapped up the 2023/24 VSBL season in style with Waverley taking out the top title in Premier League Major after back-to-back wins over Blackburn. Geelong and Malvern went to a three-game series with the Baycats coming out on top to secure the Premier League Minor flag. St Kilda prevailed over Ormond Glenhuntly to win the State League Premiership.

Women’s Super Saturday at Melbourne Ballpark was a big success, with Springvale going back-to-back in Women’s Premier League and Newport securing the Women’s Premier Reserves flag. Check out all the winners HERE.

Baseball Victoria is pleased to open nominations for Umpire, Coach, and Volunteer of the Year Awards at the end of the 2023/24 VSBL season.
