Saturday 25 November saw the second Bayside Championship game between local rivals Moorabbin Panthers and Sandringham Royals.

This was the second year of the annual challenge between the two Bayside Council baseball clubs. In 2022, former Sandringham President Eric Daniels approached Adrian Fielden from Moorabbin about proceeding with the idea that the first time the clubs play each season, it should be for the "Bayside Championship".

Sandringham took out the win this year after a hard-fought battle, edging Moorabbin 6-4. Grant Irving pitched eight solid innings before handing over to Riley Trad to close the game.

The Royals were big on extra-base hits, with Jayden Kim hitting three doubles, plus Irving and Tahj Rousell with one double each. Harrison Wills had three singles and Roussell hit two as Ty Daniels and Balin OÇallaghan also picked up hits.

Moorabbin's highlights included doubles to Andrei Popa-Smith, Nick Veal, and Stewart Mathieson, who also hit a 2-run home run. Import Livio Bundi struck out eight in five innings.
