Dandenong U14 were victorious in the State Winter Championship at Frankston over the weekend when they defeated Geelong Blue in a shootout in the last game of the tournament.
The bats were busy on Sunday, and when the dust cleared after the last round Dandenong ran out Champions with a 12-9 win over GBA in four innings. The teams totalled 19 hits, including seven to extra bases in the game..
In Division 2 Sunraysia ran out winners over Geelong Red 11-2. Sunraysia played a very good tournament as they went through undefeated. That is quite and effort when you consider how many times they have to change pitchers during the tournament.
The MVP's for the tournament were:
Dandenong – Dante Caruso
Geelong Blue – Jarryd Wood
Diamond Valley – Keenan Spence
Ring Black – Riley Light
Ring Yellow – Royce Parker
Geelong Red – Luke Radford
Sunraysia – Jack Higginbotham
Ring Green – Charlie O’Connell
Latrobe Valley – Brendan Laid

Thanks to Frankston Baseball Club and the Dandenong Baseball Association for turning out such a spectacular venue.
