Baseball Victoria is pleased to announce coaching appointments for the 2024 Barclay Cup, which will run from 29 September to 5 October at MacKillop Baseball Club in Sydney.
“Thank you to these dedicated coaches for stepping up to the plate to help our junior girls make the most of their time at the third annual Barclay Cup,” BV CEO Chet Gray said. “We are confident they will have an amazing experience improving their skills and meeting new friends under the leadership of these experienced baseballers. Australia’s U16 national squad players will get a chance to see how they stack up against some of the world’s best when they play in a five-game exhibition series vs the United States National 15U Team in September.
Australia’s U16 squad was already scheduled to be in America for the 2024 U16 Perfect Game World Series tournament in September, playing against current NCAA Division 1 commits and future MLB draft picks in Atlanta.
Now, their trip will also include a five-game series vs USA’s 15U team before they even reach their original scheduled Perfect Game tournament.
Victoria’s representatives include players Jake Bertucci, Windsor Breckenridge, Cooper Busch, Roman Coote, Jordan Ellis, Brandon Elton, Mitchell Langworthy, Riley Peoples, and Liam Puncher, plus coaches Scott Meager, Donavon Hendricks, and EO Val Langworthy.

Baseball Victoria is excited to continue SWC traditions, with the Under 14 State Winter Championships & All-Girls Winter Invitational returning to Bendigo for another year.
The tournament action runs from 29-30 June at Albert Roy Reserve, home of Bendigo Baseball Association, Falcons and Scots Baseball Clubs, and Club Court Reserve, home of Strathfieldsaye Baseball Club. Maiden Gully Rec Reserve will also host games.
Teams from Bendigo, Dandenong, Geelong, Latrobe Valley, North Eastern, and MWBL (City West, Diamond Valley, Ringwood) will take part in the junior baseball fun.
“We look forward to an exciting competition and can’t wait to bring some of the best junior baseball to Bendigo,” BV Tournament Officer Tony McPherson said. “We wish all players the best of luck and hope everyone has a great time.”
The Under 14 age group is full of enthusiastic players eager to continue developing their skills, while the All-Girls Winter Invitational was a big hit last year and will follow up on that success by welcoming more female baseballers aged 12-16.
With the growth of winter baseball and strong interest in this age group, the U14 SWC now has two venues: Albert Roy Reserve for Division 1 games and Maiden Gully Rec Reserve for Division 2.
“Bendigo Baseball Association is thrilled to be part of this long-standing winter baseball tradition and we cannot wait to welcome Under 14 and All-Girls teams to our great venues for a memorable weekend,” President Luke Martin said. “Thank you to Baseball Victoria and the City of Greater Bendigo for the opportunity and ongoing support, as well as all the club volunteers who make hosting these events possible.”
Baseball Victoria Diamond Partners Ausport will be on hand at Albert Roy Reserve from 8:30am both days with great deals on baseball gear, while Field of View Sports Photography will capture all the action.

Nominations are now open for the Baseball Victoria Junior Committee (BVJC), a new sub-committee of the BV Board.
The BV Junior Committee will provide the Pennant Committee and BV with recommendations on VSBL junior competition formats, structures, and playing conditions for review and consideration.

The 2024 Aces Sporting Club Senior State Winter Championships came to a close on Monday with Geelong taking out the title for the second straight year.
First-place Geelong beat fourth-place Ringwood 8-2 in the semi-finals to advance to the grand final, while second-place MWBL City outlasted third-place Dandenong 6-2 to set up a final clash with the reigning champs.

Senior SWC
Bendigo 7, MWBL Ringwood 6
Bendigo defeated Ringwood 7-6 on Monday morning after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at six in the top of the fifth when a steal of home scored one run.
Bendigo built a four-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Ringwood's charge as they closed the gap on an RBI double and an error.
Bendigo was first on the board in the opening frame after Ryan Spokes singled, Ajay Power was struck by a pitch, and Sebastion Smith grounded out, each scoring one run.
Ringwood tied it up at the bottom of the fourth on a double by Owen De'Vries, an error, and a wild pitch.
Jayson Strahan stepped on the mound first for Bendigo. He gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.
Nate Stevens started for Ringwood, giving up six hits and six runs (four earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three.
Josh Brown tossed one and one-third innings of zero-run ball for Bendigo in relief, giving up zero hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
Brown set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Bendigo with two hits in three at-bats. Power went 1-for-1 at the plate as the catcher led the team with two runs batted in. Brown stole three bases with nine total for the side.
Dylan Trevorah, Josh White, De'Vries, Aiden Burt, Dan Smith, and Jackson Hunkin each collected one hit for Ringwood. De'Vries and Smith drove in one run while White stole two bases.
Grand Final: Geelong 4, MWBL City 2
Geelong topped MWBL City 4-2 in the grand final after breaking through in the fourth on an RBI single by Addison Bishop-Worn.
City tied it up in the top of the sixth on two sacrifice flies before Connor Hughes singled to give Geelong a 3-2 lead in the bottom half.
Brayden Bebee started the game for Geelong, giving up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jordan Isbister appeared in relief.
Michael Formisano stepped on the bump first for City, giving up two hits and one run over four innings with six strikeouts and a walk.
Jordan Baumann led Geelong with two hits in four at-bats from the leadoff position. Hughes, Bishop-Worn, and Harper Rickard each drove in one run for Geelong while the defense turned a double play.
Kyle Douglas, Adam Merzel, Jack Daniels, and Tyler Luther-Wilson each collected one hit for City. Fraser Boyd and Dennis Neal each drove in one run.

Senior SWC
Geelong 10, Dandenong 6
Will Brennan collected three hits in three at-bats as Geelong defeated Dandenong 10-6 on Sunday. Brennan doubled in the first and singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Geelong got on board in the bottom of the first after Brayden Bebee hit a sacrifice fly and Connor Hughes singled, each scoring one run.
Dandenong flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on seven hits to take a 5-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Dillion Collie that drove in two.
Geelong tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a single by Maxton Sherry, a base hit by Sam Reale, and a sacrifice fly by Brennan.
Geelong took a 9-5 lead in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Harper Rickard, Bebee, and Jordan Isbister.
Jordan Baumann stepped on the hill first for Geelong, giving up seven hits and five runs over two innings with four strikeouts and two walks.
Dandenong starter Rohan Hector gave up five hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two and walking four.
Bradyn Baker, Cooper Bishop-Worn, and Reale each came on in relief for Geelong and shut out the opposing side.
Geelong tallied 11 hits in the game with two RBIs for Bebee, Isbister, and Rickard. Hughes went 2-for-3. There were four stolen bases for Geelong and three double plays on defense, too.
Collie, the number seven hitter for Dandenong, led the way with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Collie, Caiden Ali, Nathan Kielor, Max Vetter, Hiro Goke, Max Hunter, and Scott Baillie each collected one hit.
Dandenong 8, MWBL Ringwood 3
Dandenong was triumphant over MWBL Ringwood 8-3 on Sunday after starting the scoring in the top of the first when Tyler Ellis tripled and Max Hunter walked, each scoring one run.
Dandenong added to the early lead in the top of the second after Hiro Goke singled, Mitch Bower was struck by a pitch, and Ellis, Hunter, and Scott Baillie walked, each scoring one run.
Mike McGillvray started the game for Dandenong, giving up two hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking five.
Owen De'Vries stepped on the hill first for Ringwood, giving up four hits and eight runs (six earned) over four innings with three strikeouts and ten walks.
Dillion Collie and Ellis each collected two hits for Dandenong. Goke, Bower, Collie, Baillie, and Ellis each drove in a run while the team had strong eyes at the plate, taking 10 walks throughout the game. Max Vetter, Hunter, and Ellis led the team with two walks each.
Lilly Simpson had one run batted in while Angus Burt and De'Vries each collected one hit for Ringwood.
MWBL City 19, Bendigo 0
Matt Irwin collected four hits in four at-bats as MWBL City defeated Bendigo 19-0 on Sunday. Irwin doubled in the first followed by singles in the second and fourth innings.
City got on board in the bottom of the first inning with RBI singles by Fraser Boyd, Cooper Carrison, and Mason Condie. Irwin and Adam Shoppe hit RBI doubles before David Tongue's 2-RBI base hit and another single for Carrison finished off the inning.
They added seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. Ben Howard and Boyd hit 2-RBI doubles while Hiroshi Narasaki plated one on an extra-base hit. Carrison scored after tagging up and Irwin singled to bring home another run.
Shoppe stepped on the hill first for City, giving up three hits over five scoreless innings with two walks and two strikeouts. He was backed up by a double play on defense and 21 hits on offense with 3 RBIs for both Shoppe and Boyd. Tongue, Howard, and Carrison had multiple hits, too.
Josh Brown, Rod Baulch, and Dylan Stanyer each collected one hit for Bendigo while the defense turned one double play.
Geelong 19, Bendigo 0
Bradyn Baker collected four hits in four at-bats as Geelong cruised to a 19-0 victory. Baker singled four times across the first three innings.
Geelong scored in the opening frame after Baker and Pantalleresco singled, Ellis hit into a fielder's choice, and Addison Bishop-Worn and Baumann doubled, each scoring one run.
12 runs scored in the top of the second, starting with an error and Jordan Isbister's RBI single. Jordan Ellis hit a 2-RBI double and Bishop-Worn, Jordan Baumann, Baker, and Trent Pantalleresco picked up RBI base hits. Cade White doubled to score two runs, Ellis singled to score another, and Bishop-Worn hit a sacrifice fly to bring home the final run of the inning.
Geelong extended their lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by White and Ellis.
Brendan DeLorenzo led things off on the bump for Geelong, giving up three hits over four scoreless innings with no walks and six strikeouts.
Geelong recorded 20 hits as shortstop Ellis went 3-for-4 at the plate with five runs batted in. White, Isbister, Bishop-Worn, Baumann, and Pantalleresco each collected multiple hits.
Sebastion Smith, Ajay Power, and Jayson Strahan each collected one hit for Bendigo.
Women's SWC
MWBL Green 16, Geelong Blue 9
There were runs aplenty on Sunday as MWBL Green beat Geelong Blue 16-9, with the winners collecting seven hits and giving up just two.
MWBL jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first after Ebony Sutherland was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Beatrix Coban singled, scoring three runs, and Andie Torcasio drew a walk, scoring one run.
Geelong took a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the first with a series of bases-loaded walks. However, MWBL retook the lead their next time up, making it 9-7 when Jessica Warwick and Torcasio walked and a wild pitch scored a run.
Geelong tied it up at nine in the bottom of the second thanks to a single by Suzanne Medwell and a groundout by Jaimee Brereton.
MWBL took the lead in the top of the third inning after Emma Sullivan doubled, Ashley Katoa grounded out, Sutherland tripled, Torcasio singled, Leah Antonacci walked, Sullivan singled, and Katoa singled, each scoring one run.
Nyah O'Brien led things off on the mound for Geelong, giving up two hits and nine runs over two innings, striking out three and walking eight.
Adriana Chen and Katoa each appeared in relief for MWBL.
Coban and Sullivan each collected two hits for the winning side, with 2 RBIs for Katoa, Coban, Sullivan, and Sutherland. Antonacci led the side with four out of 13 walks while Warwick, Chen, Antonacci, Coban, and Torcasio stole multiple bases (13 total).
MWBL didn't commit a single error in the field as Antonacci had the most chances with three.
Brereton, the number seven hitter for Geelong, led the way with two runs batted in. Medwell and Richelle Cranston each collected one hit while the team walked 12 times with two bases on balls for Alanah Rose, Sophia Law, and Jessica Curnow.
Geelong didn't commit a single error in the field as Erika Bojar had the most chances with three.
Dandenong 12, Bendigo 6
Dandenong defeated Bendigo 12-6 on Sunday thanks in part to a seven-run second inning. Cassidy McCubbin, Narelle Rentoul, and Jessica Moulding drew bases-loaded walks before additional runs scored on Felicity Clissold's fielder's choice and singles by Isabeau Hart and Jessica Walters.
Dandenong jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning after Walters singled, scoring two runs, before a fielder's choice and a wild pitch added to the total.
Clissold led things off on the mound for Dandenong, giving up five hits and six runs over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking seven. Jessica Brown pitched in relief.
Bendigo starter Dickinson struck out one in the first inning as Dandenong battled hard.
Walters drove the middle of the winning lineup, leading the side with two runs batted in on a 2-for-2 day. Walters, Brown, and Hart each had two hits while McCubbin took three of the team's 11 walks. Moulding, Hart, and Carni Dowsett stole multiple bases with 10 total for the team.
Katrina Edwards, Phoebe Martin, Aimee Sparnian, Blyth, and Lila Lacy-Myers each collected one hit for Bendigo. Edwards, Martin, Georgia Thornhill, and Blyth each drove in one run with multiple stolen bases for Zoe O'Keefe, Sparnian, and Lacy-Myers.
Bendigo practiced patience at the plate ith seven walks and seven stolen bases, while the defense didn't make any errors. Martin had the most chances in the field with two.
MWBL Gold 7, MWBL Green 6
MWBL Gold defeated MWBL Green 7-6 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at six in the bottom of the second when Kirsty Davies induced Jade Devlin to hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored.
Gold came back to win despite trailing 5-0 in the first. Green opened the scoring on three errors and added one more in the second when Davies singled on a 3-0 count, making the score 6-3.
In the bottom of the second inning, Gold retook the lead after an Emily Brennan double, two fielding errors, and a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
Jade Yuen led things off on the hill for Gold, giving up two hits and six runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking five.
Adriana Chen started for Green, allowing three hits and seven runs (four earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.
Ebony Tunc drove the middle of the lineup, leading Gold with two runs batted in. Brennan set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the team with two hitsin two at-bats while also stealing two bases (five total on the team).
Ebony Sutherland and Davies each collected one hit for Green with an RBI to Beatrix Coban and Davies. Liesel Perks and Stephanie Keely each stole multiple bases with nine total on the team throughout the game.
Dandenong 10, Geelong White 7
Dandenong topped Geelong White 10-7 on Sunday after scoring early, with a groundout by Jessica Walters and a single by Georgia Paige bringing home first-inning runs.
They added seven runs on five hits in the top of the second. Felicity Clissold drew a bases-loaded walk, Isabeau Hart and Walters hit RBI singles, and Alanna Kappler induced Jessica Brown to hit into a fielder's choice but two runs scored. Paige and Lily Strachan also picked up RBI base hits.
Paige stepped on the mound first for Dandenong, allowing five hits and four runs (two earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Brown pitched in relief.
Amanda Mentiplay led things off on the hill for Geelong, giving up three hits, four walks, and six runs.
Dandenong collected nine hits in the game. Paige provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading the side with two runs batted in on a 2-for-2 day. Strachan and Paige each collected two hits while Brown took two of the team's seven walks. Brown, Paige, and Liesel Bouker each stole multiple bases with 16 total in the game.
Kira Kuwamoto and Ruby Benne were a one-two punch in the lineup, each driving in two runs for Geelong, while Brooke Sadler collected two hits in three at-bats. Geelong turned one double play.
MWBL Gold 19, Bendigo 2
Bendigo got on board first due to an error, but MWBL Gold quickly responded with six runs in the bottom of the first. Singles by Emily Brennan and Leonora Sheenan-Warran and a hit by pitch helped extend their early lead in the second.
Gold added to their tally in the third on an error and a wild pitch before four hits and seven runs in the fourth. Ebony Tunc drew a walk, scoring one run and Maddi Weller singled, scoring one run. Brennan and Jade Yuen both hit 2-RBI doubles and Jade Devlin followed up with an RBI base hit.
Macy Priamo started the game for MWBL, giving up three hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings with four strikeouts and two walks.
Phoebe Martin started on the hill for Bendigo, giving up one hit and six runs with two strikeouts and four walks.
Eva Gottschling tossed one inning of no-run ball for MWBL in relief with no walks and two strikeouts.
Gold piled up 10 hits in the game as Brennan provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading the side with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day.
Brennan, Devlin, and Weller had two hits each while Mia Llewellyn took two of the team's ten walks. Priamo stole two bases with six total SBs on the team.
Zoe O'Keefe led Bendigo with two hits in two at-bats from the leadoff position. She also stole two bases with four total in the game.
Semi-Final: Dandenong 13, MWBL Green 12
Jessica Brown drove in four runs on one hit to lead Dandenong past MWBL Green 13-12 in a close semi-final. Brown took two bases-loaded walks and doubled in the third to bring home two runs.
Dandenong won despite being out-hit by MWBL Green six to eight. MWBL Green scored two runs on an error in the first, although Dandenong quickly took a 3-2 lead with a bases-loaded walk and a 2-RBI single by Lily Strachan.
MWBL Green flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring seven runs on six hits to take a 9-3 lead. Emma Sullivan singled on a 3-0 count to drive in two.
Dandenong responded with five runs on two hits in the bottom of the second. Jessica Walters singled, scoring one run, Brown drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carni Dowsett singled to score another. Sullivan induced Strachan to hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored and Narelle Rentoul lined out, scoring one more.
MWBL Green added to their early lead in the top of the third after walks to Jessica Warwick and Bronwyn James and an RBI groundout by Haley Warwick.
Dandenong tied the game in the bottom of the third
Grand Final: Geelong 10, Dandenong 1
Geelong outhit Dandenong 12-2 to secure grand final glory with a final score of 10-1. Jess Curnow went 3-for-3 and Richelle Cranston and Sophia Law had two hits and three RBIs each. Jaimee Brereton also plated two.
Dandenong scored in the opening frame with an RBI single to Carni Dowsett before Geelong responded in the next inning with Law's RBI double.
Geelong added one in the third and four in the fifth and sixth to seal the deal while keeping Dandenong scoreless the rest of the game.
Lily Kevelham threw five solid innings with just two hits to Dowsett and Georgia Paige. Kevelham walked five and struck out three with just one run allowed to get the win. She also received MVP honours for the weekend.

Senior SWC
Geelong 9, Ringwood 3
Noah Brennan struck out 10 batters to lead Geelong past MWBL Ringwood 9-3 on Saturday. Brennan gave up three hits and three runs over six innings while walking none.
Geelong jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second after Maxton Sherry drew a walk, scoring one run, Sam Reale singled, scoring two runs, and a steal of home scored one more.
Two more Geelong runs crossed the plate in the third to extend the lead to 6-2. Brayden Bebee hit a solo home run to left field and Jordan Baumann singled, scoring one run.
Dan Smith stepped on the mound first for Ringwood, giving up five hits and seven runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking four.
Reale went 2-for-3 at the plate as the center fielder led the team with two runs batted in. Jordan Ellis and Reale each stole multiple bases with seven total for the team in the game.
Geelong's defense turned one double play and didn't make any errors as Harper Rickard had the most plays with nine.
Josh White provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led Ringwood with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Jackson Hunkin went 2-for-3 while the defense picked up a double play.
Dandenong 7, Bendigo 0
Kyle Varlet Parker drove in five runs on four hits to lead Dandenong past Bendigo 7-0 on Saturday. This included an RBI single in the first and a 2-RBI double in the second, followed by another run-scoring base hit in the fourth and a double in the fifth.
Max Vetter also scored after tagging up to help Dandenong to an early lead, and by the end of the second, it was 4-0 in their favour. An error added one more in the third.
Max Hunter stepped on the hill first for Dandenong, giving up three hits over three scoreless innings with four strikeouts and no walks.
Josh Brown started on the mound for Bendigo, giving up five hits and four runs over two innings with three strikeouts and two walks.
Rohan Hector pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Dandenong in relief with zero hits and just one walk.
Dandenong accumulated 13 hits in the game. Caiden Ali and Hiro Goke each collected multiple hits while the team took seven walks, including two apiece for Goke and Mitch Bower. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Bendigo's Sebastion Smith, Jordan Doherty, and Ajay Power had one hit each.
MWBL City 23, MWBL Ringwood 0
Adam Merzel collected three hits in four at-bats as MWBL City defeated MWBL Ringwood 23-0 on Saturday. Merzel singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.
City scored 17 early runs starting with a fielder's choice, 2-RBI double by Dennis Neal, and RBI doubles by Michael Formisano and Mason Condie. Matt Irwin singled, scoring two runs, Jarryd Rogers drew a walk, scoring one, and David Tongue doubled, scoring two. Neal, Irwin, Jack Daniels, and Tyler Luther-Wilson had RBI hits,too.
City added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Cooper Carrison doubled, scoring two runs, Dylan Trevorah induced Merzel to hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored, and a dropped third strike scored one more.
Adam Shoppe opened the game for City, giving up one hit over two scoreless innings with three strikeouts and zero walks. Carrison threw two innings of no-run ball in relief, giving up one hit and two walks with a strikeout.
Luther-Wilson led City with four hits in five at-bats as the team had 22 hits total. Neal and Merzel each drove in three runs as Irwin, Formisano, Tongue, Daniels, and Carrison each collected multiple hits while the defense turned one double play.
Jackson Hunkin went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ringwood in hits.
Geelong 11, MWBL City 4
Despite trailing by four runs, Geelong rallied to defeat MWBL City 11-4. Hayden Peoples collected three hits in four at-bats in the win, with a home run in the sixth and singles in the second and fifth.
MWBL City jumped out to an early lead in the first with Tyler Luther-Wilson's RBI single, David Tongue's sacrifice fly, and a 2-RBI single by Kyle Douglas.

Geelong added four more runs in the top of the sixth inning on two hits. Jack Daniels induced Addison Bishop-Worn to hit into a fielder's choice but one run scored. An error scored another before Peoples sent a two-run homer out of right field.
Geelong starter Peoples gave up six hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking three.
Tongue stepped on the mound first for City, giving up five hits and six runs (one earned) over one and two-third innings with two strikeouts and three walks.
Geelong piled up nine hits in the game. Brendan DeLorenzo batted in three runs from the number nine spot on a 1-or-3 day while Will Brennan and Jordan Baumann collected multiple hits. The team was patient at the plate with seven walks, including two apiece for Cade White, Cooper Bishop-Worn, and Jordan Ellis.
Jarryd Rogers and Luther-Wilson were a force together in the lineup, each collecting two hits for City while batting back-to-back. Number seven hitter Douglas led the way with two runs batted in on a 1-for-3 day while the defense turned two double plays.
Women's SWC
Geelong Blue 21, MWBL Gold 4
Nagi Namba drove in five runs on three hits to lead Geelong Blue past MWBL Gold. Namba singled in the fist scoring one, doubled in the second scoring two, and doubled in the third to score one more.
Geelong Blue got on board in the first inning after Namba's RBI single and Jessica Curnow's 2-RBI base hit. Richelle Cranston singled to score a run, followed by Teri Jackson's bases-loaded walk and a fielder's choice.
The winners also scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the second, thanks to an error, a groundout, and RBI hits from Law, Namba, and Curnow. The top of the third included run-scoring hits by Suzanne Medwell, Nyah O'Brien, Namba, Curnow, and Cranston.
Lily Kevelham started on the mound for Geelong, giving up four hits and four runs (one earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Wright appeared in relief.
Geelong collected 14 hits in the game. Namba, Cranston, and Curnow each collected three hits while the team took nine walks total. Law and Jessica Kevelham had two walks each while the former had two of the team's four stolen bases.
Macy Priamo, Eva Gottschling, Watson, and Megan Kelly each collected one hit for MWBL Gold. Emily Brennan, Watson, Julia Goertz, and Mia Llewellyn each drove in one run.
Geelong White 9, MWBL Green 4
Geelong White defeated MWBL Green 9-4 on Saturday. MWBL was first on the board, scoring in the opening frame after Ashley Katoa grounded out and an error scored another run.
Geelong made it 3-2 in the bottom of the first after a wild pitch scored one run and Kelly Williams drew a bases-loaded walk.
A dropped third strike tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the second before Geelong made it 5-3 in the bottom half. Ruby Benne and Kira Kuwamoto hit into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
A single by Saya Turnley extended Geelong's lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the third inning.
Geelong starter Saeko Suzuki gave up three hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Emma Sutherland started on the hill for MWBL Green, giving up zero hits and three runs (one earned) over one inning with three strikeouts and three walks.
Geelong's Jessica Trezise-Barrett led the team with two hits in two at-bats while Michelle Searle, Kuwamoto, Turnley, and Benne each drove in one run.
Katoa provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading MWBL Green with two runs batted in on a 1-for-3 day. Katoa, Stephanie Keely, and Beatrix Coban each collected one hit.
Dandenong 8, Geelong Blue 6
Dandenong built an eight-run lead in the third inning and then held off Geelong Blue's charge for an 8-6 victory on Saturday. Geelong closed the gap by scoring on a triple, an error, and three singles.
Dandenong got on board in the top of the first inning after Jessica Walters singled, Georgia Page walked, Jessica Brown walked, Liesel Bouker walked, and Johanna Blacker walked, each scoring one run.
Brown hit a sacrifice fly to make it 6-0 in the second before a fielder's choice and Isabeau Hart's RBI single added a couple more in the third.
Paige started the game for Dandenong, giving up nine hits and six runs (five earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking none.
Jaimee Brereton started for Geelong, giving up three hits and eight runs (seven earned) over three innings with a strikeout and eight walks.
Blacker, Brown, Walters, and Hart each drove in one run for Dandenong. Walters went 2-for-3 while Blacker took two of the team's eight walks. Clissold, Walters, and Hart each stole multiple bases with nine total in the game.
Geelong piled up nine hits in the game, including two apiece for Jessica Kevelham, Nagi Namba, and Richelle Cranston. Lily Kevelham had two runs batted in on a 1-for-2 day.
MWBL Green 17, Bendigo 9
There were runs aplenty on Saturday at Saints diamond two as MWBL Green won 17-9 over Bendigo. MWBL collected eight hits while Bendigo had nine.
Bendigo got on board in the top of the first inning after Katrina Edwards walked and Phoebe Martin singled, each scoring one run.
MWBL Green flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring seven runs on five hits to take a 7-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was an inside the park home run by Emma Sullivan that drove in two.
MWBL Green scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning. A wild pitch and two bases-loaded walks started things off before Kerry Lister hit a 3-RBI triple, followed by a fielder's choice.
The winners added to their early lead in the bottom of the third after Qixuan Wu and Perks singled and Lister walked, each scoring one run.
Perks led things off on the bump for MWBL Green, giving up nine hits and nine runs (eight earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking seven.
Lister led MWBL Green with four runs batted in from the number nine spot. Wu and Perks each collected two hits while Coban took three of the team's 13 walks. Wu, Perks, James, and Sullivan each stole multiple bases with 12 total for the team plus one double play on defense.
Bendigo totaled nine hits in the game. Kerry Hovell drove the middle of the lineup with two runs batted in on a 2-for-2 day. Hovell, Jess Thompson, and Martin each collected two hits.
Bendigo had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Edwards and Zoe O'Keefe led the team with two bases on balls each. O'Keefe also stole two bases with six total in the game.
Dandenong 21, MWBL Gold 0
Jessica Walters drove in four runs on four hits to lead Dandenong past MWBL Gold. Walters hit an RBI double in the first, a 3-RBI single in the third, and an RBI base hit in the fifth.
Dandenong opened the scoring in the top of the first after Isabeau Hart and Walters hit RBI doubles. Jessica Brown and Lily Strachan hit RBI singles before Carni Dowsett doubled to score two more.
They added to their lead in the top of the second after Georgia Page hit a sacrifice fly, Liesel Bouker singled, and Strachan grounded out, each scoring one run.
Dandenong scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third. Walters singled, scoring three runs, while Paige and Bouker brought home two more on groundouts.
The winning side added to their total with seven runs on four hits in the top of the fifth. Dowsett, Narelle Rentoul, and Hart drew bases-loaded walks while Jessica Moulding, Walters, and Brown hit RBI singles.
Bouker started on the bump for Dandenong, allowing four hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one.
Dandenong totaled 15 hits in the game with multiple for Brown, Hart, and Moulding. They tallied nine walks total with two apiece for Clissold and Dowsett, plus six stolen bases. They were sure-handed in the field with no errors as Brown made five plays, the most on the team.
Megan Kelly went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead MWBL Gold in hits.
Geelong Blue 13, Bendigo 6
Geelong Blue scored seven runs in the fourth inning, helping them defeat Bendigo 13-6 on Saturday.
In the big inning, Lily Kevelham hit a solo inside the park home run and Jessica Curnow doubled, scoring one run. Jaimee Brereton hit an RBI single and Ruby Wright hit a 2-RBI double while Erika Bojar and Kevelham grounded out to score one run each.
Geelong was first to score with a fielder's choice in the opening inning. They added five runs on three hits in the bottom of the second. Bojar tripled to score two and Alanah Rose singled to score three.
Bendigo scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. A dropped third strike scored one run, Sara Nakamura took a bases-loaded walk, and Lila Lacy-Myers scored three on a groundout.
Athena Koulis started the game for Geelong, giving up no hits or runs over two and one-third innings with a walk and a strikeout. Richelle Cranston and Curnow appeared in relief.
Sparnian stepped on the mound first for Bendigo, giving up four hits and six runs (five earned) over two innings with three walks.
Bojar led Geelong with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup, going 1-for-3 on the day. Nyah O'Brien went 2-for-2 while Brereton took two of the team's seven walks.
Lacy-Myers provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led Bendigo with two runs batted in. Jess Thompson, Zoe O'Keefe, Sparnian, Nakamura, and Penny Blyth each collected one hit.
Geelong White 10, MWBL Gold 3
Geelong White defeated MWBL Gold 10-3 thanks to six runs in the third inning. Monica Reddy Kanukala drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lacey Tompkins singled to score another. Saeko Suzuki hit an RBI single, Alanna Kappler grounded out, scoring two runs, and an error also scored a run.
Kira Kuwamoto singled and Ruby Benne hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring a run for Geelong in the first.
Leonora Sheenan-Warran singled as MWBL Gold tied the game at two in the bottom of the first.
By the top of second, Geelong regained the lead thanks to singles by Kuwamoto and Kappler,e each scoring one run.
Saya Turnley stepped on the hill first for Geelong, allowing two hits and two runs (one earned) over one inning, striking out two and walking one. Suzuki appeared in relief for Geelong.
Jade Yuen led things off for MWBL Gold, giving up two hits and two runs in one inning on the mound with two walks and no strikeouts.
Kuwamoto provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Geelong with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Reddy Kanukala led Geelong with three walks as the team took eight walks total.
Sheenan-Warran led MWBL Gold with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day while Emily Brennan set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the team with two hits in two at-bats.

Baseball Victoria is excited to continue the tradition of State Winter Championships, with the annual tournaments kicking off at Geelong Baseball Centre this weekend.
The Aces Sporting Club Senior State Winter Championship will run over the long weekend from 8-10 June, with the Women's State Winter Championship on Saturday and Sunday. These tournaments will be hosted by Geelong Baseball Association, Guild All-Stars Baseball Club, and East Belmont Saints Baseball Club.
Geelong, Dandenong, and Bendigo join MWBL City, Diamond Valley, and Ringwood in the Senior SWC while the Women’s SWC will feature two teams from Geelong and Melbourne plus Bendigo and Dandenong.
“We can’t wait to welcome hundreds of baseballers and supporters to Geelong for a fantastic weekend of competition and camaraderie,” BV Tournament Officer Tony McPherson said. “We wish everyone the best of luck as they hit the diamond and showcase some of the top talent in winter baseball across Victoria.”
GBA is excited to continue hosting the senior carnival and bring back the women’s tournament after a successful inaugural run last year.
