Day four saw all U16 teams play doubleheaders, and we were treated to some scintillating baseball! Check out game recaps from all 12 games from day four at the Australian Youth Championship presented by Beastwear.

U16: New South Wales 13-2 Western Australia | BOX SCORE

Despite surrendering an early lead, an offensive flurry lifted New South Wales to their fourth win in as many games at #AYC2019.

WA held a narrow lead after run, but 12 unanswered runs from NSW put the result beyond doubt.

Jake Burns nailed his second homer of the tournament as he and Brent Iredale accounted for eight of NSW’s 13 RBI.

Harrison Wheeldon struck out three in his start, while Tyler Spiteri followed him up well with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Jay Reynolds claimed WA’s only RBI of the morning, as starting pitcher Max Chipper battled manfully in warm conditions.

NSW play the ACT tomorrow night, while WA take on SA tomorrow morning.

U16: New South Wales Country 14-4 Australian Capital Territory | BOX SCORE

New South Wales Country scored in every inning as they recorded their first win of #AYC2019 this morning on Diamond 3.

Cooper Bake-Smith picked up two hits and drove in four for Country, while Bradley Thurecht ensured the ACT couldn’t mount a comeback, tossing 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Zak Elvy and Lochlainn Varian managed two hits for ACT, as third baseman Patrik Paramonov picked up a team-high two RBI.

Every ACT reached base this morning, but they were unable to convert opportunities.

ACT go head-to-head with NSW tomorrow night on Diamond 3, while Country take on Victoria White tomorrow morning.

U16: Queensland 11-5 South Australia | BOX SCORE

Queensland were on the back foot early, but consistent scoring saw them pull away from South Australia on Diamond 1.

SA jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but Queensland scored eight unanswered, storming to their second win of the championship.

Lachlan Maurer nailed a double and drove in four RBI, while catcher Jaime Fox showed power and speed, finishing with a double and a triple.

Despite some early struggles, Queensland starter Ian Lee showed composure to keep SA off the scoreboard in the middle innings, while Declan Summerford finished the job with two one-hit innings of relief.

Tyson Schunke doubled for SA, while Max Stagg recorded a team-high three RBI.

SA match up with WA tomorrow morning, while Queensland take on Victoria Blue.

U18: New South Wales 24-3 South Australia | BOX SCORE

NSW did not let up as their offence exploded en route to a 21-run victory over SA.

Catcher Caleb Shepherd ended the ballgame on a high, with a three-run blast to right field. Shepherd finished with five RBI, while Travis Bazzana drove in four from the leadoff spot.

Jack Lee did his job on the hill for NSW, tossing two hitless innings to start the ballgame.

NSW cashed in on their seven extra base hits, with Blake Cavill, Jaylin Rae and Luke Krkovski recording triples.

Jacob Scott drove in a pair for SA, while catcher Carter Powell picked up two of SA’s three hits.

SA match up with WA and QLD in a doubleheader tomorrow, while NSW face off with Victoria White and NSW Country.

U16: Victoria White 7-6 Victoria Blue | BOX SCORE

Victoria White scored a late go-ahead run and held their nerve, staving off Victoria Blue in an incredible matchup.

Angus Stals threw three pressure-filled innings of relief to keep Victoria White in the ballgame, allowing one unearned run.

Andrei Popa-Smith went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for Vic White, while Vic Blue’s Bronson Neave claimed three hits of his own in the leadoff spot.

Charlie Collins’ one out triple gave Victoria Blue hope in the bottom of the seventh, but Stals held his nerve, Victoria White’s second win of the championship.

Victoria Blue play Queensland tomorrow morning, while Victoria White take on NSW Country.

U16: Western Australia 14-4 New South Wales Country | BOX SCORE

Western Australia threatened all game, and eventually picked up a ten run win on Diamond 1.

WA held a one run lead going into the seventh, but their offence exploded to put up nine runs from five hits.

Maddux Stivey got things going with a one out double and Dylan Bojarski capped it with a two-RBI triple as WA kept their undefeated record intact.

BJ Cooke struck out four and only allowed one in his start, while Country’s George Cooper impressed with three shutout innings in relief.

Daniel Choi picked up three RBI for WA, while Cooper Bake-Smith had a team-high two hits for NSW Country.

NSW Country take on Victoria White tomorrow morning, while WA take on SA at 9.15am.

Consistent early runs proved the difference again, as New South Wales picked up another convincing victory on Diamond 3.

Solomon Maguire, Tyrone Fergie and Jye Burns combined for a one-hit shutout, with Maguire and Fergie striking out five and four respectively.

The top third of the NSW lineup did the damage once again, with Bradley Griffin, Brent Iredale and Jake Burns each claiming two hits.

Burns drove in a team-high four runs, bringing his tally to eight in his last two games.

Brent Iredale and Clayton Campbell picked up a double each for NSW, while Jamie Vidale claimed SA’s lone hit.

Darcy Barry tossed two impressive innings of scoreless relief against a dominant NSW lineup.

SA take on WA first-up tomorrow morning, while NSW go head-to-head with the ACT at 6.30pm.

U16: Victoria White 10-4 Queensland | BOX SCORE

Victoria White plated six in the first and never looked back, picking up their second win of the day on Diamond 2.

Andrei Popa-Smith again impressed with bat in hand driving in three of Victoria White’s seven runs, while third baseman Nick Bertucci claimed three hits.

Popa-Smith also was key on the mound, only allowing one earned run in three innings of work.

Ian Lee doubled and tripled in the leadoff spot for Queensland, while catcher Cain McClelland also chimed in with two hits.

Queensland rallied late to score three runs, but Victoria White kept their cool to record their third win of the championship.

Queensland take on Victoria Blue tomorrow morning, while Vic White match up with New South Wales Country.

U16: Victoria Blue 19-14 Australian Capital Territory | BOX SCORE

Two major offensive innings highlighted a run-scoring feast on Diamond 1, as Victoria Blue overcame an eight run deficit.

ACT scored eight in the second, before Vic Blue scored 13 in the third, highlighted by a triple and a long home run from Trenell Hutchins. Hutchins finished a single shy of the cycle, and lead Vic Blue with four RBI.

Marcus Graham also drive in four runs, as Vic Blue racked up 22 hits in seven innings.

Jack Bennetts continued his strong tournament, with a triple and three RBI.

The ACT pulled within two, but Vic Blue managed to score six late runs to claim the win.

ACT take on NSW at 6.30pm tomorrow, while Victoria Blue match up with Queensland at 9am.

U18: Victoria White 13-3 New South Wales Country | BOX SCORE

Victoria White used two big innings to pull away from New South Wales Country, running out 13-3 winners on Diamond 3.

Harvey Hadlow tossed five stellar innings, anchoring the Victoria White victory. Hadlow kept the ball on the ground and only gave up three hits in his start.

Vic White put together a solid team performance, with every player in their starting lineup contributing with either a hit or an RBI.

Connor Hickey lead Vic White with three hits, while Riley Light went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Country managed to pull some runs back late, but the damage was done as Victoria White claimed their first win of the championship

Victoria White take on Victoria Blue and New South Wales tomorrow, while Country face off with the ACT and NSW.

U18: Western Australia 5-4 Queensland | BOX SCORE

Caiden Nicoletto’s two-RBI double capped a stirring comeback from Western Australia, who walked off Queensland in Diamond 2’s finale.

Nicoletto scored Caiden Deal and Aiden Austen, as WA came from two runs down to snatch a dramatic victory.

Nicoletto’s double was his second hit of the day, while leadoff man Jayden Mitchell lead the line with three hits of his own.

Mitchell Field's  2 2/3 innings of spectacular relief pitching saw WA remain in touch, following up solid performances from Lachlan Waite and Broadee Binder.

Brock Wollin gave Queensland every chance to grab the win, with the starter going five strong innings.

Two ninth inning walks came back to bite Queensland, as WA picked up their fourth win from as many games.

WA face off with SA and Vic Blue tomorrow, while Queensland battle with the ACT and SA.

U18: Victoria Blue 9-0 Australian Capital Territory | BOX SCORE

Victoria Blue kept their perfect start to the championship going, needing all nine innings to defeat a determined ACT outfit.

It took until the seventh inning for the floodgates to open, as Kobe Greenhalgh’s two-out triple sparked a six run inning. Henry Hayman, Damon Hill and Will Tucker all claimed RBI as Victoria Blue’s offence got going.

Aiden Flynn gave Victoria Blue a perfect platform, tossing 4 1/3 innings, striking out four and only allowing one hit. Connor Hughes backed his starter up to perfection, striking out three in three scoreless innings.

Tom Pellow and Cooper Sheather both managed doubles for the ACT, but it wasn't enough as Victoria Blue claimed their fourth win in as many games.

Vic Blue take on Vic White and WA tomorrow, while the ACT match up with Queensland and NSW Country.
