It was another action-packed day at the 2023 Australian Youth Championships with doubleheaders for Victoria's U16 and U18 State Teams.

U16: Vic 15, ACT 3
Victoria cruised to a 15-3 win over ACT, collectng 11 hits while giving up five. The offense got started with Hudson Pallay's single in the first, going on to score four in the opening inning. Zak Stafilis and Riley Peoples had base hits, too.
Cooper Laurie had a lead-off single in the second, followed by Devin Leahy's base hit and Pallay's RBI double. Samuel Walk hit a sacrfice fly to make it 7-0 and Stafilis doubled before the inning was over.
Riley Peoples led off the third with a triple and came around to score on Cade White's sacrifice fly. An error and a wild pitch made it a 10-0 ballgame in the fourth.
ACT got on the board in the fifth but Victoria backed it up with a five-run inning thanks to RBIs from Will Kent, Walk, and Stafilis.
Windsor Breckenridge threw two innings with no hits or runs, just a walk and a pair of strikeouts. Hamish Stone struck out two in one inning and Stafilis struck out four in three innings.
Victoria collected 11 hits, including two apiece for Stafilis, Peoples, Pallay, and Kent.
U16: QLD 6, Vic 5
Victoria led 2-0 after the second with singles from Ty Daniels and Andrew Land. Queensland cut the lead in half in the third but Victoria got another in the fourth.
QLD tied it up and then took the lead in the fifth. Daniels singled, Land doubled, and Kent singled to make it 5-5, but Victoria just missed out as QLD scored once more in the bottom of the sixth to win the game.
Nathan Rumbelow was on the hill for Victoria. He went three innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out one. Mitchell Langworthy threw two innings in relief.
Victoria racked up seven hits in the game. Roman Coote, Land, and Daniels all had multiple hits.
U18: ACT 7, Vic 5
Victoria opened up scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning, and it was a back-and-forth battle from there. A 5-4 lead after four didn't last long as ACT came back to get the win.
James Squire was on the mound for Victoria. The hurler went three innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out two and walking one. Jayden Kim, Matthew Johnston, and Alex Duske each contributed in relief for Victoria.
Victoria tallied five hits. Kim and Will Cavanagh had two hits each.
U18: QLD 5, Vic 4
Queensland walked it off in a close matchup, which opened with three runs for Victoria. Declan Speirs hit a sacrifice fly and Harper Rickard doubled.
QLD got two back in the third while Victoria stayed off the board again until the sixth, scoring one on Ben Howard's RBI single.
Cooper Drummond toed the rubber for Victoria. The bulldog surrendered two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three. Blake Mitchell and Jayden Kim entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Rickard led Victoria with two hits in two at-bats.
#AYC2023 Day 4
Next up for Victoria's U16 team is a 10am game against NSW on Sunday morning, while the U18s play at 3:30pm.
