The Baseball Victoria (BV) 2015 Business Plan was presented at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BV held on 10 February 2015. The core of the Business Plan incorporates a clear and strategic shift to working more collaboratively with Baseball Australia (BA) and the Australian Baseball League (ABL) and the Melbourne Aces (Aces).
When introducing the Business Plan at the AGM; Myles Foreman President of Baseball Victoria said “If our game is to effectively compete and prosper in the crowded Victorian sporting landscape we must establish, maintain and build upon a new era of collaboration between BV, BA, ABL/Aces and our Members This is essential if we are to ensure we are successful as a Baseball Community in providing every Victorian with the opportunity to participate in Baseball as players across all ages via club and high performance pathways, as umpires, scorers, coaches, spectators, administrators and volunteers. In formulating the Business Plan BV has over recent weeks proactively reached out to BA and the ABL in order to better align the organisations common goals of Baseball”.
Justin Huber General Manager of the Melbourne Aces said; “we are delighted and encouraged that a line in the sand has been drawn and that already BV, BA and the ABL have started to collaborate on specific initiatives in a way which has not occurred prior to this point”
Peter Wermuth Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Baseball League said: “The ABL continues our mission to provide an entertainment product focused on growing baseballs popularity throughout Australia. This mission would be impossible without the strong support of our state bodies and local baseball communities. I am thrilled Victoria has set a new course in collaboration, one which will undoubtedly see Victorian Baseball back in its rightful position as one of Australia’s true powerhouses”.
Neale Price Chief Executive Officer of Baseball Victoria said; “The Business Plan includes clear unambiguous statements to ensure the BV team stays focused on the core deliverables the Baseball Community expects of BV. The Plan also and importantly provides clear measures by which the BV team can measure itself and how the Baseball Community can measure BV’s service delivery”.
