Baseball Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Margie Ardono to the Board of Directors to lead the Events portfolio. Margie has been appointed to fill a casual vacancy for ratification at the next Annual General Meeting of Baseball Victoria to be held in February 2019.
Margie brings a wealth of experience to the table, including over 20 years of success in the areas of administration, events, community development and marketing. She is a graduate of Victoria University and The University of Indonesia; Jakarta. Margie currently serves as the Company Director of an Australian consumer products business that distributes both locally and internationally.
As the mother of two sons who are proud baseball athletes, Margie has been involved in the baseball world for many years. Their journey has included Australian team tours to Japan, the Asia-Pacific Region tournament in the Philippines, several Little League State and National Tournaments in Victoria, NSW and QLD as well as the USA Senior Little League World Series.
Margie is excited and enthusiastic about this opportunity to combine her love for the sport with her professional expertise. She thrives to be a change maker and values inclusion and diversity, two areas in which she will work closely on behalf of Baseball Victoria. She says she’s looking forward to applying her skill-set and recommendations to branding, revenue, diversity and events.
She plans to pursue ambitions such as streamlining BV uniforms and the overall image perception of BV in the community to ensure consistency and strengthen ties with teams and their communities. “I hope to solidify trust as the governing body to maximise productivity, as well as grow and improve the hospitality services that are integral to the game day.”
Another of Margie’s aspirations is to strengthen relationships with multi-cultural leaders in the community and promote all of BV’s values of inclusion. By undertaking cross-marketing with local and major events on a regular basis, Margie believes BV can take events to the next level, improving the experience for all our members and participants. “I’m looking forward to working aggressively on local area marketing and building long-lasting relationships with relative council departments and initiatives that have synergies with our organisation’s values,” Margie said. “I will also be leaning on my associates at Melbourne Park, AAMI stadium, Channel 9 and the rest of my AAA address book to help make BV events remarkable and profitable.”
Baseball Victoria stakeholders and members can expect to see even more improvements in terms of events and inclusion efforts as we move forward into our bigger and brighter future, with a dedicated Board of Directors and BV office staff working diligently to continue to strengthen baseball at the grassroots level. “To contribute to any of these activities in a micro or macro way in a team environment with the board and BV head office staff will be an honour,” Margie said.
President of Baseball Victoria Myles Foreman says he is thrilled to welcome Margie to the Board, and he’s confident she will make fantastic contributions to the future of baseball throughout the state. “Margie is an excellent addition to the Board of Directors, and her willingness and eagerness to make positive changes and contributions will be greatly appreciated. She will undoubtedly enhance BV events and inclusion initiatives to benefit our organisation and the experiences of all our members.”
