Team Australia has announced the 30-man roster that will travel to Tokyo to compete at the World Baseball Classic next month, with six BV Performance Pathway alumni making the cut.
Victorians Darryl George, Dan McGrath, Jon Kennedy, Liam Spence, Blake Townsend, and Jarryd Dale will suit up for Team Australia. BV High Performance Officer Damian Shanahan has been named to the coaching staff.
Team Australia is set to compete in Pool B, which features current world No.1 Japan, as well as Korea, China and Czech Republic.
Pool B will compete in Tokyo from 9-13 March. The top two teams from Pool B then advance to the quarterfinals, which will be held in Tokyo on 15-16 March.
Securing a top-two finish in the quarterfinals would then qualify Team Australia to travel to Miami, Florida to compete in the semi-final and championship games on 20-21 March.
