Baseball Victoria Hall of Fame Players: David Clarkson

David Clarkson was a catcher who was finest players of his era and a stalwart for the Waverley/Melbourne Reds in the first Australian Baseball League.
In 1990, David won the inaugural Australian Baseball League batting championship when he hit .444 and he would continue to be a key hitter for the Reds.
Clarkson was a line drive hitter who won two Australian Baseball League championships and was a key member of the Reds second championship when he hit 10 homeruns and had 45 RBIs.
David was an established player before the Australian Baseball League, he represented Australia and Victoria on numerous occasions and retired in 1997.
David was a member of the Reds all-decade team and team of the decade. He was a coach of the Victorian Claxton Shield team and the Melbourne Aces. David was inducted into the Baseball Australia Hall of fame in 2010.
