Baseball Australia has announced the provisional 44-player list of invitees to April’s National Junior Camp, including eight from Victoria:
- Bronson Neave (Melbourne)
- Charlie Pierson (Sandringham)
- Declan Speirs (Essendon)
- Genevieve Beacom (Sandringham)
- Hayden Peoples (Geelong)
- Jayden Kim (Sandringham)
- Nick Bertucci (Moorabbin)
- Nick Parton (Malvern)
These U-18 athletes were chosen alongside fellow high performance prospects from around the country following an in-depth review of data collected at the 2022 National Showcase Series events in each state.
“We are very proud of our eight Victorians invited to the National Junior Camp, which will be an excellent opportunity to further their development and prepare to take their game to the next level,” Baseball Victoria Talent Development Manager Damian Shanahan said. “As demonstrated at the Victorian showcase, these athletes consistently put in the hard work to get better and expand their skills, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them after April’s camp.”
Once the camp is complete, a National Junior Squad will be picked to travel to the U.S. in late August before being finalised ahead of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Florida.
