Baseball Victoria Hall of Fame Players: John Hodges

A stunningly talented player, John Hodges made the Preston A Grade team in 1971 as a 15-year-old and remained a fixture for many years.
Jon was a member of the Preston Baseball Club team of the century. He won the Westcott Trophy for Preston’s club champion in 1974, 1975 and 1977.
A mercurial short-stop, John was a representative in nine Victorian Claxton Shield teams, and he won the Helms award in 1981 and was a five-time All-Australian.
He also represented Australia, including at the 1980 Amateur World Series and the 1981 Intercontinental Cup. John was a member of the Diamond Anniversary Victorian Claxton Shield All-Star Team.
