Trials for the upcoming K2 Baseball Japan Rubberball Tour will be conducted on 27 April 2014 at Waverley Baseball Club and on 4 May 2014 at Essendon Baseball Club. Please arrive at 9.00am for a 9.30am start. Please note, players must attend both trials.
This program provides 10 skill development training sessions and a taste of international competition with a tour to Japan which will be a trip of a lifetime. This tour is conducted by K2 Baseball.
For the 2014 tour, the following eligibility requirements must be met to be considered:
· Boys and Girls with moderate baseball skills.
· Born in 2002 (01 January to 31 December 2002). Passport copy will be requested.
· Registered with a Baseball Victoria Association or Club.
· Prepared to cover the travel and related costs of approximately $2,900 (covering team photo, to/from airfare,
accommodation, uniforms, walk out gears, bags and cleats etc.) excluding pocket money and railway pass (1 week).
· Commitment for 5 months (April-August).
· Passport and entry visa eligibility.
If selected in the final team, training will be conducted on Sunday morning at Essendon Baseball Club. The final team will depart for Japan on 15 July 2014 and arrive back in Melbourne on 31 July 2014.
Generally, the tour will include the following key components:
· International travel to Japan.
· Billeting for the entire tour (Coaches/EO's are also billeted in the same city).
· 10-14 games and practice in Japan against local teams, then participation in the IBA Boys U12 World Championships, 3-5 games).
· A day trip to Nara, an ancient capital of Japan by Bullet Train, attendance at Disneyland, All Japan U18 Baseball Game.
· 2-3 days for local sightseeing to downtown Tokyo including Tokyo Dome, visit Mizuno Factory Shop.
· Team will comprise of 16 players.
