Day 2 of the National Youth Championships presented by Rawlings, wrapped up with the local derby between NSW and NSW country battling it out for bragging rights.
At the end of 7th Inning Country came out on top with a convincing 6 to 1 and securing State pride.
Game 1
Queensland U16 opened the day on a winning note on Day Two with a comfortable 6-1 victory over ACT.
The Queensland hitting was too good as they recorded their first win of the tournament
Game 2
The Battle for Victoria was set on Day Two as the two under 16’s side for Victoria (Blue and White) battled it out in the 38 degree heat.
It wasn’t a day for pitching with 27 runs scored by both teams where Victoria Blue came out on top with a 16-11 win over their rivals.
Game 3
Had the U18’s ACT and VIC White sides face off in what was a tight game that VIC White ended up coming away with the win 7 to 6.
Game 4
A U16 heated rivalry between east and west continued on Day Two as Western Australia edged past NSW by one in extra innings to take out the win 10-9.
Game 5
The U18’s were back in action again when QLD got up over VIC Blue 6 to 4 to record the win for the 6th game of the day.
Game 6
WA U18’s took on Vic White and swung the bats well to hold on to an impressive 6 to 0 win.
Game 7
One of the best games to date, made it’s way to a tie breaker when NSW and Queensland unable to be separated in the 7th. The U18 boys from the Sunshine State coming out on top 9 to 7.
Game 8
Country was back in action against ACT U18’s with the boys from the bush walking away with a convincing 3 to 0 win in game that went the distance.
Game 9
The U18 Western Australia team continued to flex their might with a strong 7-2 win over South Australia.
The boys from the west continued their strong hitting with ten hits in the game to ensure their undefeated streak remained in tact.
Game 10
The U18 Victoria Blue side demonstrated a business like performance against South Australia in a 5-3 victory on Day Two.
The Victorians ensured the victory with a strong pitching performance to earn their first win of the tournament.
Game 11
Strong performances on the mound was the answer as U16 South Australia eased past NSW Country.
Country NSW had to endure some amazing pitching from South Australia who had five strikeouts on the day.
