National Championships Dates Announced

Baseball Australia is pleased to announce the host venues and tournament dates for the National Youth Championships and National Women’s Championships for 2016. 

For the second consecutive year, the countries elite male and female ballplayers will take over two capital cites with the aim of being crowned Australia’s best.

Blue Sox Stadium, Blacktown International Sports Park, NSW, will host the Under 16 and Under 18 National Youth Championships from 10 to 18 January.  Both Championships have a long baseball history with 2016 being the 78th year for the Under 18 legacy.

The National Youth Women and the National Women’s Championships will be making a return to the home of the Cavalry, Narrabundah Ballpark, ACT, with both Championships starting on 10 January.  The Youth Women will conclude on the 15th and the Women’s Championships on the 17th of January.

Narrabundah Ballpark and Blacktown International Sports Park boast some of the best baseball facilities in the country and Baseball Australia looks forward to returning to both of these ballparks in January 2016.

Speaking of the venue announcements, Baseball Australia Chief Operating Officer, Justin Drew, said they are key events in the Australian baseball calendar.

“These January events kick off the New Year and the level of competition sets the tone for the representative season.  We are pleased to be returning to Sydney and Canberra and look forward to seeing some great team performances and quality play”.

Further 2016 National Championship division dates and venues will be announced in the coming months.
