Following a successful 2022 National Showcase Series, the Baseball Victoria High Performance team has distributed detailed player reports and college information to all 72 players who attended the showcase.
The first part of the showcase was dedicated to data collection, with all this information including individual position metrics, run time, exit velocity, and throwing velocity now compiled into player reports for recruitment purposes.
Over 2,000 individual videos have been produced and shared with the players as well, including film of 60-yard sprints, hitting, infield, outfield, catching, and in-game pitching.
“These videos give players an insight and historical record into their individual skills and output at this point in their career,” BV Talent Development Manager Damian Shanahan said. “The videos also show players and parents how to capture their skills on film as a recruitment tool in the future.”
“We are confident these individual performance reports, combined with valuable resources from Baseball Australia on college baseball opportunities, will help our hardworking showcase athletes take the next steps in their bright futures on and off the field. Thank you once again to these players for their fantastic efforts throughout the showcase, and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish moving forward.”
