Vic Dingoes and Vic Hornets to Represent at 2025 Barclay Cup

All the best to our Vic Dingoes and Vic Hornets who will represent at the 2025 Barclay Cup from 28 September to 4 October. This marks the fourth annual junior girls tournament, with teams from VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, and host SA heading to Adelaide Angels Baseball Club for six days of baseball, building friendships and making memories.

Meet the Dingoes and Hornets below.

Vic Dingoes

#6 Sarah Fielden

The pitcher and infielder plays summer baseball with Moorabbin Panthers and winter ball with Frankston Tomatoes. This is her second Barclay Cup, and making the team is one of her proudest accomplishments. Sarah names Lili Cavanagh and Ruby Dale as baseball role models and has her sights set on power hitting with home run goals this tournament. After fostering new friendships at the last year’s event, Sarah has a lot to look forward to at the 2025 Barclay Cup: “I’m excited to meet even more people.”

#8 Alyssa Jamieson

Alyssa, aka Lyss, plays shortstop and is a Barclay Cup veteran, now at her fourth tournament. She plays summer ball with Port Melbourne/Footscray and winter with Port Melbourne/Melbourne Uni. She is inspired by Belinda Cannington and is most proud of getting the opportunity to play in three different nationals. “I’m excited to meet new people at the Barclay Cup, and my goals are to have a good week and perform well.”

P.S. Alyssa’s fun fact is that she can sleep for 17 hours!

#10 Taylor Elton

The first-time Barclay Cup pitcher also credits Lili Cavanagh as a key baseball role model. Taylor plays summer ball with Moorabbin and winter ball with Frankston, and is most proud of making the Hornets/Dingoes team. Her goals for the week? “To hit a double.”

#11 Coco Maddison

Coco pitches and plays second/third base. After attending her first Barclay Cup, she will kick off the summer season with Preston Pirates. Yogi Berra is her baseball role model and she’s most proud of winning two premierships in baseball so far. At this week’s tournament, there’s a lot to look forward to. “I'm most excited about the games and my goal is to get more RBIs.”

#26 Charlotte Jansen

Charlotte “CJ” Jansen is a utility player who has a big summer ahead with Doncaster Dragons and also plays netball. She names Jess Johnson as a baseball role model and says doing her part for the team is what she’s most proud of. “This is my 4th Barclay Cup and my favourite part is making new friends.”

#33 Charlize Chilcott

Charlize, affectionally called “Charcoal” by teammates, plays club ball with Diamond Creek year-round. This marks the second Barclay Cup for the second base star, who names fellow junior Nate Brunning as a baseball role model. “I’m most excited for games – I want to get on base and have fun. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come within my skills.”

#76 Molly Lewis

Known as “Mol Dog” to her teammates, Molly is a catcher, shortstop and pitcher with Springvale Lions in the summer and Heathmont Penguins in the winter. Bronwyn Gell and Lili Cavanagh are her baseball role models, and she says winning a premiership with her new club is one of her proudest baseball moments. Her fun fact? She’s the auntie of three nieces.

As for this week at the Barclay Cup, Molly wants to have fun and learn new things. “This is my third one and the most exciting thing I’m looking forward to is playing against the Florida Team and having fun.”

Vic Hornets

#1 Lilly Roberts

Lilly pitches and plays third base with Ballarat Royals year-round. Her baseball role model is her dad, and she’s excited to learn new tips and hit the ball at the tournament. She’s most proud of hitting a home run in the time she’s played ball, and she made a great play at third as games got underway this week.

“This is my first Barclay Cup. I was nervous when we first got to the airport and the nerves kicked in, but now I'm fine and not worried one bit. I've played before and I know how it goes now.”

#4 Abbie Adami-Beer

Abbie, whose teammates call her “Abs”, plays second, shortstop and pitcher at Sunshine Baseball Club. Lili Cavanagh inspires her baseball journey, and she is proud of making great infield plays. At her first Barclay Cup, she is most excited to “have fun with new people and play baseball.”

#9 Jessie Hoare

Jessie “Jess” is a catcher and second base player with Wodonga Warriors headed to her first Barclay Cup. She lists Tom Simmons and Ross Johnson as baseball role models and is most proud of her hits in baseball so far. Even her dog’s name is Diamond! As for Barclay, she says “I’m excited to meet new people through the tournament and enjoy time with my teammates."

#11 Hannah Wilson-Powell

Also known by the nickname Hammer, Hannah is a catcher and all-rounder who plays with Blackburn and Waverley in the summer and Ringwood in the winter. Jenna Basse is her baseball role model, and making lots of friends is one of her favourite parts of the sport and something to look forward to at her first Barclay Cup. As for her goal for the week, it’s pretty simple: “to have fun!”

#12 Paige Anders

Paige pitches and plays infield/outfield with Doncaster Dragons in the summer and Porepunkah Panthers in the winter. Amy McCann and Samantha Hamilton are her baseball role models, and being selected for the Victorian Youth Women’s State Team is her proudest accomplishment. At her second Barclay Cup, she’s striving to put less pressure on herself and enjoy each moment. “I’m most excited to have a tournament that isn’t all about winning and to meet new people.”

Outside of baseball, her fun fact is that her family owns two ice creameries.

#17 Chloe Boyle

Chloe “Chlo” Boyle is a catcher with Moorabbin Panthers in the summer and Frankston Tomatoes in the winter. She looks up to Lili Cavanagh and is most proud of winning a women’s premiership in her first season. This will be her first Barclay Cup. “I’m excited to meet new people, have fun and develop new skills.”

#18 Molly Richards

A first-time Barclay Cup player, Molly is reading to bring it on the mound and at first/second base. She plays summer ball at Malvern and winter at Frankston. Lili Cavanagh is a baseball role model to Molly, who is most proud of her pitching and getting plays at first base. She loves listening to music and wants to play well and have fun with all the people around her at the tournament. “I’ve been excited to meet everyone, get to know them and play baseball.”

#48 Georgia Lovell

Georgia, who’s teammates call her “G-dawg” is an all-rounder, mainly catcher, with Sunshine and Bendigo East. She looks up to Abbey McLellan and Lili Cavanagh and has loved playing in rep teams with now five years of baseball under her belt. “I’m most proud of my double play at summer state championships for Belles and representing my home. At my first Barclay Cup, I’m most excited to meet people and make long-lasting friendships.”

#55 Amelia Bergman

The Newport Rams outfielder, who goes by the nickname “Noodles”, looks up to Aaron Whitefield and is excited to meet new girls as she returns for her second Barclay Cup. She enjoys the on-field warm-ups and dances and is most proud of how far she’s come with her batting. This week, her goal is to get everyone to sign a giant baseball she’s brought along. Her fun fact? “I have matching necklaces with my roommate Alicia.”
