Morgan Doty and Abbey McLellan each drove in three runs while Abbey Kelly and Allie Bebbere combined on the mound to limit NSW to two runs and none after the first.
Both teams traded runs in the first but Victoria pulled away in the third. Two runs scored on a Doty fly ball to left field to break a tie and a McLellan sacrifice fly made it 5-2.
Doty singled to add to the lead in the fifth before a two-run base hit from McLellan made it 8-2. Kelly tripled to drive in two runs later in the inning.
Bebbere kept NSW at bay, recording the final nine outs. The right-hander finished with three strikeouts in three scoreless innings.
Kelly had allowed two runs – only one earned – in four innings. The 2019 MVP struck out three and at one point retired 11-straight.
Victoria can improve to 4-0 against Queensland Development on Monday with first pitch at 4:30pm AEST.
