Former Doncaster and Greenhills Montmorency pitcher Lewis Thorpe has been recalled by Minnesota and will make his 2021 MLB season debut in a start against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday morning.
The Twins called Thorpe up on Friday morning to start in game one of their series against the Angels at Angels Stadium.
Thorpe will be making his fourth career MLB start and 20th appearance for Minnesota overall.
The Victorian went 0-1 with a 6.06 ERA in seven appearances, including one start, in 2020.
Thorpe is 3-3 with a 6.14 ERA in his MLB career.
The Twins sent the 25-year-old lefty down ahead of Opening Day.
Thorpe made five Spring Training appearances, posting a 2.35 ERA and WHIP of 0.78.
First pitch is scheduled for 11.38 AEST.
