Rowe’s curve ball was sharp as he got the first out swinging then Karlsen got doubled off at 2nd after a well caught fly ball in right. Werribee with all the work to do.

McPherson hit to 3rd base and beat the throw fairly but Karlsen’s arm was too good as he caught the runner stealing 2nd again. Box held his hands back on a curve ball and hit it over the left field fence to increase the Werribee lead to two. Groundouts at 3rd got the second and third outs and sent Moorabbin in with all the work to do.

Wheeler walked on a full count then took 2nd base on defensive indifference. Moorabbin then had the tying run in scoring position when Werribee made an error and let one in. A groundout ended the innings and left two runners on base.
