The 2021 Little League State Championships featured plenty of exciting baseball action at Werribee Baseball Club today as the Senior, Junior, and Intermediate League competitions continued.
Sunday will open with the Little League Major Grand Final between Southern Mariners and Twins at 8:00am before finals for Senior, Junior, and Intermediate League.

Senior League
Southern Mariners 18 v Twins 8
Twins watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 18-8 loss to Southern Mariners on Friday. The Mariners scored on a triple by Lachlan Smith, a double by Charlie Pierson, a sacrifice fly by Tyler Ellis, and a sacrifice fly by Christopher Tsakoumakis in the first inning.
Twins collected six hits and Southern Mariners had 17 in the high-scoring affair.
Southern Mariners fired up the offense in the first inning, when Smith tripled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Twins notched four runs in the fourth inning. Harrison Fitzgerald, Macks Powell, and Noah Scott all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Southern Mariners scored five runs in the sixth inning. Ellis, Ryan Langworthy, Mitchell Denny, and Genevieve Beacom powered the big inning with RBIs.

An early lead helped Twins defeat Eastern Athletics 10-4 on Saturday. Twins scored on a single by Patariki Pouaka-Grego in the first inning, a single by Nathan Rumbelow in the first inning, and a stolen base by Devin Leahy in the second inning.
Twins pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Twins scored one run on a stolen base.
Twins put up four runs in the third inning. Twins put the pressure on, lead by singles by Rumbelow and Hamish Stone and a double by Jake Fesili.
Alex Liersch led things off on the pitcher's mound for Twins. The pitcher allowed eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.
Cameron Branson toed the rubber for Eastern Athletics. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out two. Benjamin Tan, Jack Noble, and Ethan Holloway each contributed in relief for Eastern Athletics.
