Hills pulled off a stirring comeback in game one of the Junior League World Series, defeating Europe Africa 7-5 in Taylor, Michigan.

After conceding the first three runs of the ballgame, a fifth inning blitz saw seven runs cross the plate.

Christos Lyberopoulos was outstanding for Hills, claiming a team high three hits. Lyberopoulos also held his nerve on the mound, striking out six including the last two of the ballgame to seal the win for Hills.

Tyler Spiteri, Cole Buck, Mathew Clements, Lachlan Bojarski and Stephen Courtney all drove in RBIs for Hills in the fifth inning, as they wrestled the lead back from Europe-Africa.

From there, Lyberopoulos and the Hills defence made the most of their opportunities, as they claimed a first-up win in Taylor.

Hills' second game of the Junior League World Series takes place at 7am AEST tomorrow (14 August, 2018) against Canada.
