Baseball Victoria congratulates Victorian pitcher Josh Ashen on committing to Vernon College!
The 18-year-old Cheltenham Rustlers player, who was part of the National Junior Squad this year, will head to the Texas school next year out of Baseball Victoria Aces Academy.
Josh looks forward to joining the NJCAA Division 1 Chaps after a successful junior career where he represented Southern Mariners charter and Victoria at the Australian Youth Championship.
Josh started playing at age nine and went on to represent Southern Mariners charter and Victoria at the Australian Youth Championship. He was also a U-18 Victorian Schoolboy.
“‘Josh is a versatile athlete with tremendous upside on the mound,” Baseball Victoria Talent Development Manager Damian Shanahan said. “He has shown consistent dedication and commitment to his goal of being a collegiate athlete.”
Victorian catcher-infielder Zak Skinner is currently at Vernon College as well.
