Baseball Victoria is excited to continue the tradition of State Winter Championships, with the annual tournaments kicking off at Geelong Baseball Centre this weekend.
The Aces Sporting Club Senior State Winter Championship will run over the long weekend from 8-10 June, with the Women's State Winter Championship on Saturday and Sunday. These tournaments will be hosted by Geelong Baseball Association, Guild All-Stars Baseball Club, and East Belmont Saints Baseball Club.
Geelong, Dandenong, and Bendigo join MWBL City, Diamond Valley, and Ringwood in the Senior SWC while the Women’s SWC will feature two teams from Geelong and Melbourne plus Bendigo and Dandenong.
“We can’t wait to welcome hundreds of baseballers and supporters to Geelong for a fantastic weekend of competition and camaraderie,” BV Tournament Officer Tony McPherson said. “We wish everyone the best of luck as they hit the diamond and showcase some of the top talent in winter baseball across Victoria.”
GBA is excited to continue hosting the senior carnival and bring back the women’s tournament after a successful inaugural run last year.
"Thank you to Baseball Victoria and City of Greater Geelong for the opportunity to host the State Winter Championships once more,” President Stuart McGovern said. “We greatly appreciate the support of volunteers at Guild and East Belmont Saints who make it possible, and we look forward to an awesome weekend of baseball.”
