7.40pm Newcastle top Far North Coast for first win
#ASLC2018 result: Newcastle Eagles 15, Far North Coast 5
Far North Coast proved no match for Newcastle Eagles in their 2018 Australian Senior League Championship clash on Monday night.
The Eagles prevailed 15-5 at Albert Park Baseball Complex in Lismore, leaving Far North Coast winless after two Pool B games.
Newcastle raced to a 2-0 lead before Far North Coast got on the board in the bottom of the second on a groundball from Luke Dransfield.
But the Eagles hit back immediately, batting around in the third and extending their lead to 12-1 on nine hits and a couple of walks.
Far North Coast added four runs in the fourth but could not make further inroads into the deficit.
Brett Allen finished with a team-high four hits for Newcastle.
Josh Healy picked up two hits for Far North Coast.

Adelaide Titans plated four runs in the top of the eighth to claim an extra-innings win over Cronulla on Day 2 of #ASLC2018.
After Cronulla tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extras, the Titans hit back.
Ryan Przibilla drove in the go-ahead run for Adelaide.
It was Przibilla’s second RBI of the game.
Jake Burns drove in a couple of runs for Cronulla.
Adelaide Titans plated four runs in the top of the eighth to claim an extra-innings win over Cronulla on Day 2 of #ASLC2018.
After Cronulla tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extras, the Titans hit back.
Ryan Przibilla drove in the go-ahead run for Adelaide.
It was Przibilla’s second RBI of the game.

4.50pm Greenaway lifts Meteors over Hills
#ASLC2018 result: Western Meteors 6, Hills 4
Western Meteors collected their first win of #ASLC2018, downing Hills 6-4 on Day 2 at Lismore.
Deacon Greenaway drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the third, breaking a 4-4 tie.
The Meteors added an insurance run and it proved enough against Hills.
Greenaway finished with a team-high two hits and Michael Albertini drove in a couple of runs.
Dylan Mitchell led the way for Hills with three hits.
Western Meteors collected their first win of #ASLC2018, downing Hills 6-4 on Day 2 at Lismore.

Northern Metros overcame an early three-run deficit, toppling Southern Mariners on Day 2 of #AILC2018.
The Metros scored five runs in the third, four in the fifth and nine in the seventh to win 18-5 on Diamond 4.
Sean Escott and Jacob Santich each finished with three RBIs, while reliever Braydin Horsley struck out five hitters.
The Metros’ record improved to 3-0 following the win.
The Mariners have two wins and a loss.
Northern Metros overcame an early three-run deficit, toppling Southern Mariners on Day 2 of #AILC2018.
The Metros scored five runs in the third, four in the fifth and nine in the seventh to win 18-5 on Diamond 4.

The Western Suns stayed undefeated with a 26-12 victory over Macarthur on Day 2 of #AILC2018 in Lismore.
Taine Batchem struck out seven for the Suns and picked up four hits, driving in five runs.
Overall the Suns racked up 17 hits in a strong offensive display.
A 10-run sixth was the highlight.
The Western Suns stayed undefeated with a 26-12 victory over Macarthur on Day 2 of #AILC2018 in Lismore.
Taine Batchem struck out seven for the Suns and picked up four hits, driving in five runs.
Overall the Suns racked up 17 hits in a strong offensive display.
A 10-run sixth was the highlight.

Twins withstood a late Adelaide Armada rally to collect their second-straight win of #ASLC2018.
The Twins held on for a 7-4 victory on Diamond 1, led by a three-RBI outing from Mason Wray.
Twins scored the opening six runs of the game and led 7-1 entering the top of the seventh.
Armada, the defending champions, scored three runs and had the tying run at the plate.
But the Twins took care of business to improve their record to 2-1.
Zane Judd drove in two runs for Adelaide.

The Mariners capitalised on a pair of errors to take the lead in a back-and -forth battle on Diamond 2.
Blake Holding’s fifth-inning RBI had pulled Southern within a run.
Holding, Adam Harris and Dante Caruso picked up two hits each for the Mariners as they inflicted Gold Coast’s first loss.
Ian Lee drove in three runs for the Cougars.
