DAY TWO RESULTS - U16 VICTORIA BLUE & WHITE

New South Wales 3 v Victoria Blue 1

New South Wales improved its U16 record to 2-0 after downing Victoria Blue 3-1 in a hard-fought battle Championship on Saturday morning.

Starter Tom Stancic built a solid platform, striking out five in three scoreless innings, and his offence did the job to collect a hard-fought victory on diamond one at Geelong Baseball Centre.

NSW v VICB: Box Score and play-by-play

Stancic did not give up a hit and allowed just one walk ahead of relievers Ethan Treble and Wilson Spinks conceding just one hit in a solid pitching performance from NSW.

New South Wales took the lead in the bottom of the third behind his strong start.

Tyler Spiteri’s RBI-double broke a scoreless deadlock.

Lachlan Bojarski’s two-out, two-run double, in the fourth extended the NSW lead to three runs.

An error allowed Victoria Blue to pull a run back in the fifth, but the NSW bullpen kept Vic Blue at bay. NSW had just three hits for the game as pitchers dominated.

Victoria Blue starter Tyler Ellis went 2 2/3 scoreless innings, not allowing a hit.

South Australia 10 v Victoria White 4

South Australia downed Victoria White 10-4 as Max Stagg starred with four hits, including a homer, in an impressive win at Melbourne Ballpark.

The Carina-product gave Queensland a five-run cushion in the top of the fourth and they held off Vic White, padding their advantage in the sixth before recording a first win.

VICW v QLD: Box Score and play-by-play

Victoria White took a 2-1 lead after one but a sacrifice fly drew Queensland level in the third.

A six-run fourth put Queensland out on top.

Victoria White starter James Lynch struck out four in five scoreless innings and Connor McLeod had seven strikeouts and allowed only one hit in four frames for SA.

The South Aussies struck first offensively.
